In point of fact, we're net energy exporters, and we will be even more so in the near future, when we complete a sustainable energy grid and we can put a thousand-foot-high electrified barbed wire fence around Texas.

Now for the real numbers from the govt

The US consumes 19+m barrels per day (that's a lot of Chinese batteries and

solar panels. The US produces about 12.8m. For most people that is a shortfall.
