What do you purpose? Government price controls?  I am glad to hear conservatives want more socialism in the marketplace.  The problem is an overdependence on free market capitalism and JIT inventory practices.

We've been through periods of high inflation before.  The problem has never been identified as 'free market capitalism and JIT inventory practices'.  Claiming conservatives want more socialism in the marketplace is just laughable.  You honestly think the answer is wage and price controls or the federal government nationalizing US industry?  Yeah.  The Venezuelan Model.  That's the ticket. 200% inflation and food shortages too.

This administration has blamed:

1.  It's not a problem.

2.  It's a good thing.

3.  Ok, it's a problem...but a 'high class problem'

4.  It's the supply chain and will be transitory and fixed once Mayor Pete gets back from paternity leave.

5.  It's all Putin's fault.

6.  It's corporate greed.

Inflation is a monetary phenomenon.  It's caused by Government dumping too much money into the economy through reckless spending when we're near full employment and by the Federal Reserve's relentless expansion of the money supply.  This is Economics 101. 

Of course Biden’s war on fossil fuel has contributed to higher energy costs that have rippled through the economy.  So has Putin's war on Ukraine....but you know, if we had just completed the Keystone Pipeline the oil Biden cut off from Russian would already be replaced with North American oil.

The real solution is painful.  It will require ratcheting up interest rates like Volker did.  This will probably cause a recession because the Biden regime didn’t recognize the problem and act on it.  It will require Government and Business partnerships to cut red tape and further deregulate the economy and for us to further exploit US oil and natural gas wealth to replace Russian supplies on the world market.  It will require Americans and our Government to work harder and spend less for a while.

Don’t take my word for it.  Listen to one of the few sane Democrats left in Congress….Joe Manchin.  He singlehandedly saved us from making the problem far worse by blocking the ‘Build Back Better Boondoggle’.  I actually think he may be the only Democrat who could win the presidency in 2024.

"When will this end? It is a disservice to the American people to act as if inflation is a new phenomenon. The Federal Reserve and the administration failed to act fast enough, and today’s data is a snapshot in time of the consequences being felt across the country," Manchin said. "Instead of acting boldly, our elected leaders and the Federal Reserve continue to respond with half-measures and rhetorical failures searching for where to lay the blame. The American people deserve the truth about why record inflation is happening and what must be done to control it."

Manchin added: "Here is the truth, we cannot spend our way to a balanced, healthy economy and continue adding to our $30 trillion national debt. Getting inflation under control will require more aggressive action by a Federal Reserve that waited too long to act. It demands the administration and Congress, Democrats and Republicans alike, support an all-the-above energy policy because that is the only way to bring down the high price of gas and energy while attacking climate change."

Inflation can be caused by monetary policy but that is not what is happening here.  You are delusional if you don't think lack of supply and the war in Ukraine are not the root cause. 

I'd tell you drive past any new car dealer or go shopping for a new appliances. All the new car dealers around here have almost no new vehicle inventory. Instead of advertising like they did in the past about their great deals on new cars they are advertising for you to come in and sell them your used car. I had a family member total out a car. The car was totaled because it needed a new hood, bumper cover and radiator.  That is what is called 10k of damages these days. They simply couldn't get the parts to fix it and the insurance company was on the hook for 90 days of rental reimbursement.

Bottom line she got what she paid for the car at the dealership 3 years ago after she had put 100k of additional milage on it.

I can go to any Walmart or DG in my area. The Wal-Mart's are missing on any given day about a 3rd of their grocery inventory. The DGs are missing about half their inventory. It's because they don't have any warehoused inventory. It's all JIT as soon as a truck arrives it's put on the shelves.  Now what is funny is I can go to one of the small chain grocery stores in my area and their shelves are still fully stocked. It's because they have wearhouses attached to their stores.

Remember when all those Republicans you voted for told us for years how beneficial it was to ship all those manufacturing jobs overseas? They touted the benefits of the free market and how the market was simply seeking out the lowest cost producer. They promised It was just a little short term pain and soon we would living in the land  of milk and 🍯 where goods were cheap and plentiful.

So now most of our shit is built overseas. There are still lockdowns in China and they aren't building our shit.

Republicans and Joe Manchin think the solution to a supply problem is to get Americans to work for less wages. How bizarre.
