Well...anyone who judges/evaluates/criticizes someone based on their public persona alone is...guessing. And their marriage has lasted for decades, so I'm sure that they do in fact love and respect one another. And their political views align and they're both very smart--which counts for a lot.
I've actually been puzzled as to why the right has always had such white-hot hatred for Hillary. I know that the RepubliQ is dominated by rapidly aging old white men, and those folks HATE the idea of an "uppity bitch" DARING to speak her mind...and RUN FOR PRESIDENT! What GALL!...but really, she's not any kind of radical; she's a policy wonk. I read her policy papers she posted on her website back in 2016. They were well reasoned and articulated, whether or not you agreed with them (and many, I didn't).
In fact, if she'd been more of a "left-wing radical," she'd have crushed Trump...but she never offered much for people to get excited about. Her party fucked her over, in that it basically said, "Oh, heh heh, we're up against Trump, we don't need to do anything." And she pretty much bought into that, too.
I wonder how many fewer people would have died of covid if she had been President. Certainly, she wouldn't have run down to Florida and jerked off, wouldn't have shat on the country's premier infectious disease expert, told everyone to drink bleach, etc. etc. etc.
