mark "forgot" to inlcude that core inflation is 2.6% which excludes the short term spike in energy.

Silly Tom. He thinks the spike in fuel costs is short term. Even the Trump administration's energy department doesn't think so.  They put out a forecast this last week (I posted it here in another thread).The rosiest forecast they could come up with is that fuel prices will remain high through 2026 and parts of 2027 based upon the optimistic assumption that the war will indeed end in April. 

We are at the beginning of this inflation crisis not the end.
