Actually, the claim Mark is REPORTING came from the Trump administration.

This is what Mark posted - without a link - That's not what the Trump's department of energy said. In fact they just put this out Tuesday: We forecast retail gasoline prices to peak at a monthly average of close to $4.30 per gallon in April and average more than $3.70” per gallon in 2026. As much as a year from now, gas could still average as much as $3.60 nationally. So even by the Trump administrations overly optimistic projections, we will be paying the Trump gas tax well into 2027 and that's if the war ends im April.  --- Withou a link there is no way to verify what he claims they said

No way, if you're lazy.

mark "forgot" to inlcude that core inflation is 2.6% which excludes the short term spike in energy.

It's always to get a good "Tom-stat"!   Instead of looking at what the data tells us and drawing a conclusion, Tom searches for some statistic to confirm his wishful preconception.

It is good to dig into the context and liberals like to look at a single stat without the context. The Core inflation rate is a govt stat and shows the context of inflation

Here is the context and the link David requested.

Mark has a nasty habit of posting such information that can be misconstrued to encompass the whole nation, when in reality, was talking about Nevada gas prices which are always higher then the national average. Here is the info Mark leftout ( this guesstimation was made concerning Nevada gas prices which are largly dependant on California retail gasoline) -- Nevada is largely dependent on California for retail gasoline, and the price tends to cost between 20% and 25% more than the national average. For example, on Tuesday, the price of gas averaged $4.14 nationally, and $5.09 in Nevada, according to AAA. In a statement accompanying the EIA outlook, the agency’s administrator acknowledged the projections released Tuesday could be overly optimistic. “Our petroleum forecasts are highly contingent on the interaction of three variables,” said EIA Administrator Tristan Abbey. “First, to even run our model we have to make an assumption about the duration of the Strait of Hormuz closure. Second, we know that the closure is forcing production to shut in, but we can only estimate these outages. Third, just as we had never before seen the strait close, we’ve never seen it reopen. What exactly that looks like remains to be seen.” But restoration of oil flows “will take months,” Abbey said. In the meantime, “Our modeling indicates that fuel prices will continue to rise until these variables resolve,” he said

No, it was talking about how the nationwide averages the Trump administration projected and published on Tuesday would impact Nevada.  That in no way shape or form changes those national numbers team Trump published.

If you exclude all the stuff that inflated then inflation doesnt look so bad.

Good to know.   Tom is a gem !

Bullshit. That is you take and, as usual, is misconstrued.
