Boiler's policies on purchase prices: Pay whatever they ask! La de da!

If we have to compete with your friend and his ilk for rooms, food, gambling, etc., eventually, he will be able to afford it but we won't. That's already happening

Kevin, how many people have $40 million?  Stop the whining.

You dont need any kind of mandate to curtail Vegas vacationing.   Its already beginning to happen.   They still have the F1 race and Superbowl which are huge...but domestic travel is begining to wan.  The pent up demand from COVID is finaly starting to run its course.    I suspect next year will not have as good attendance in SIn City.

The airlines are reporting slight decreases in domestic travel...and anecdotaly I see it on the planes.   On my last two flights I  actually had a whole row of seats to myself for the first time since before COVID.   My company also has good insight into vacation rentals which are starting to finally slow down.

Add to this the fact the Las Vegas makes the same mistake it always does during prosperous times -   They overbuild..    Resorts World is already sending me mailers for half-off room rates...just think how tough their vacancy rate will be when Fountain Bleau  opens up.   It might be hard to see it right now - but the cycle will run its course.  Very soon there is going to be alot more rooms in town than visitors to fill them.   Thats when you'll see the parking fees, shitty comps, reduced menus, overpriced everything start to go back in favor of the visitors.

In the meantime - Reno, here I come.

I fully agree with PJ.

What happened was, the lemmings came roaring into Vegas after two years of boo-hoo deprivation--and they got butt-hammered. Then they came back again, because that reaming they took was just a fluke, right? Wrong. More butt-hammering.

If the casinos hadn't leapt on that opportunity to absolutely crush the lemmings, but instead had reopened with the same prices, conditions, deals, etc. as before, their long-term business wouldn't have been affected. But people remember the gouging, even if they tolerated it for the time being. Larry Lemming is going elsewhere for his vacation from now on.
