Breaking The Slot Code breaks yet another delivery timeframe

Another month goes by and another release timeframe is broken.

On about March 20th Anthony stated the book is at the printer, and they will start shipping to customers in April. He went on to state that those who pre-ordered  would get their book in about a month.

That would put us at about April 20th. Today is the 30th. Still no book.

Last month they also announced that a new website will be launched for advantage slot play.

The cynic in me suspects the real reason for the long delays were/are trying to get this website put together so they could launch simultaneously. My hope is that they didn't re-edit the book to turn it into just a big advertisement for the paid website.

A couple days ago a new delivery timeframe was announced in a short YouTube clip with garbage audio quality. Basically "The book is at the printer, we will be shipping it out in about a month". (I rolled my eyes so hard they almost fell out of their sockets.)

I'm starting to think I have a better chance of someday finding Jimmy Hoffa's body in my mailbox than this book.

I very strongly suspect that they're reluctant to release the book at all. There's a giant swarm of slot vultures out there, fighting for that sweet sweet $12 in +EV at that machine the LOL over there is playing. I don't expect that the author of this book really wants to add to the competition.

If that is it then why the charade? Why not just cancel the book and be done with it?

They are definitely launching a paid site. I don't think they'd waste time with that if they weren't intending to release the book.

I think the site is taking longer than anticipated and they keep pushing the book so they can release both at about the same time.

I don't mind the delays so much. I just wish they were more honest about it. I just want them to stop lying and giving fake time frames.

I'm just glad that this book purchase isn't my first experience with LVA/Huntington. This would have been a very bad first impression.

That makes me wonder whether the book will have much value, or it will just be a shill for the website. The info in the book is going to obsolesce VERY quickly, so its info won't be useful for long.

One thing I want to know is how they (or anyone) can determine the point at which a game becomes +EV. Don't you have to know the inherent payback of the machine (at reset, to which will be added the accumulated bonus(es) to calculate that? And don't you have to know the frequency of the bonuses?

The casinos could destroy the slot vultures by changing the bonus game frequencies from "seldom" to "almost never."

That's what I'm hoping, is that the edits they did to the book wasn't to just make it a giant advertisement for the website.

I think the gist of it is waiting for the progressive bonuses to get high enough. The amount they are reset to after hitting is known. And in the case of the must hit bys we know a max it can get to before it will hit.

I don't expect to be able to make a bunch of money from this book. I don't have the bank roll to do it effectively. I do expect it will help me to stay away from some of the worst slots at the worst times. I also expect it will teach me what a unicorn looks like so if in a rare event I do pass by one I at least have a chance of noticing.

Mostly I'm just fascinated by the idea that people were able to make decent money on it and have interest in hearing more about how.

The casinos could destroy the slot vultures by changing the bonus game frequencies from "seldom" to "almost never." They could also, perfectly legally, lower the inherent payback to 75%. No player would have any way of knowing.

So I do want to know how the book handles that concept. "Probably positive" isn't good enough for me to stick in a hundy.

Looks like you accidentally reposted the same post again. I quoted and responded to that post already.

One clarification though the casino can't necessarily change the payback rate to 75%. They can only set it to a setting that is an option made by the manufacturer. 75% probably isn't even an option on most machines.

Well, if so, then the lowest possible setting. I've seen menus (peeking over the shoulder of a slot tech) to set paybacks, and the lowest option is usually 82-84%. The 75% minimum is state law.

There must be a point where even a maxed-out bonus is -EV, if the base payback is low enough.
