Buckle Up! On The Eve Of His Conformation Kavanaugh Gets His Me Too Moment

A college professor and attempted rape victim that didn't want to use her name is hardly a "Democratic Hack."

If someone tried to rape your mom, sister, daughter or S.O. would you think that person is fit for a lifetime appointment on the highest court of the land? Would you tell her to just keep quiet about it and just learn to deal with seeing her would be rapist and sexual assaulter sitting on the Supreme Court?  Lie detectors aren't admissible in a court of law but they are in Congressional hearings.  Lie detector tests are regularly used by the Federal Government to vet candidates for Federal law enforcement jobs and other Federal jobs.  State and local law enforcement regularly use lie detector tests to clear suspects.  The state police in my state regularly give their officers lie detector tests, and that is after they had to take one to get hired.

Oh, and Tom it is just breaking that Trump won't let the FBI vet the accusations for truthfulness, so there you go, Trump doesn't want to know the truth.

Mark, regrettably, our resident troll and gossip. You need to get a life, or, as Candy suggests, find a girlfriend, if one exists.

A college professor who is a life long democrat, donned a 'Brain' Pussy Hat for an anti-Trump science march last year in California, previously signed a letter fighting Trump's "Zero Tolerance" policy at the U.S.- Mexico border, donated to Hillary Clinton multiple times, donated to other far left groups like ActBlue, so yes, she is a democrat hack, who also has a personal ax to grind with Kavanaugh. Christine Ford’s Parents Paula K Blasey and Ralph G Blasey were the defendants in a foreclosure case in Maryland in 1996. Guess who the Judge was….Brett Kavanaugh’s mother, Martha G Kavanaugh.

Trump "won't let the FBI vet the accusations for truthfulness"? Exactly what federal crime could have been committed? Trump said he wants both Ford and Kavanaugh to testify under oath before congress. To you, that means he doesn't want to know the truth?

There a more things about this that just don't smell right. Ford said she went to the therapist in 2012 because she was afraid Kavanaugh would be nominated to the Supreme Court. In 2012? Was Obama, Clinton or Sanders (or any other democrat) going  to nominate him? Also, the letter containing the accusations was sent with the specific condition that she remain anonymous. Perhaps that condition was quickly abandoned after she was promised a significant financial reward for "going public".

Bob, can't Democrats be sexual assault victims? One of Franken's accusers was actually a conservative talk radio host. Nobody made an issue of her politics.

As to the FBI, you mistake what I am saying. Yes, sexual assault/attempted rape are state, not Federal crimes. However, it is the FBI's job to do a background check of Federal nominees for fitness of character. It is SOP. Since it is the office of President making the nomination it has to be at his request to investigate the candidate's background.

They typically look at criminal records, credit records, employment records, they interview your past employers, your current friends, past friends, and your family members. Any accusations that a nominee committed a crime would be thoroughly investigated before clearing that candidate. Now that it has been alleged that the nominee committed a crime, Trump refuses to request the FBI to update the fitness review.

If he did, the FBI would interview both Ford and Kavanaugh. They would interview Kavanaugh's friend, Mark Judge, and the other yet unnamed individual. They wouldn't allow them to issue blanket denials like that never happened. They would ask specific questions like did you know this girl, did you attend a party with this girl, were you drinking,  were you and Mark Judge ever alone with this girl. At any time in the past were you aware of these accusations. When were you first made aware of these accusations?

They would ask the victim who she told about the incident and when. They would interview those people.  They would ask for any documentation like the therapist's notes.  They would talk to the therapist.

They would offer all parties the option to take FBI administered polygraphs. After they did all of this, they would make a determination if the allegation was credible based upon the interviews, materials provided and how forthcoming each party was. The purpose wouldn't be to charge Kavanaugh with a crime but rather to determine if he is morally fit for a lifetime appointment.

Here is the thing. Trump and the Republicans knew about this and knew it was a credible accusation.  That is why they had the letter prepared in advance with the 65 women he went to high school with. The only person that could have told them about this accusation in advance and the need to solicit character reviews from women he went to high school with would have been Kavanaugh himself.

Kavanaugh has been vetted by the FBI 6 times and found to be "morally fit" for all of his previous judicial positions.

The "only person" that could have told them about this accusation in advance was Kavanaugh himself?!? I can't believe you are that naive or that partisan, but I could be wrong. It had been leaked (THE democrat and MSM formula for providing Americans with "information") to multiple people for weeks.

And, he went to an all-boys high school. The character reviews were from girls who knew him when they were all teenagers.

I don't disagree that he was vetted in the past, but he has never been vetted based upon this new information that he committed a previously unknown crime.  If after his last vetting someone found a body buried in Kavanaugh's backyard and it was an old girlfriend of his, would you say oh no we can't look at that because he was already vetted on prior occasions? If a day after his last vetting, he went out and robbed a liquor store would you say no we can't look at that because he has already been vetted? The FBI aren't fortune tellers. They can only vet what is known at the time of the vetting.

It is inexcusable to not have the FBI assess the credibility of this accusation which tells me everything I need to know. Republicans don't want the FBI to assess the credibility of the accusation because they know it is likely true. Read what Hatch said about even if he raped that girl we would still have to weigh that against everything else he did in his life. How morally bankrupt are you if you are willing to put a rapist on the Supreme Court? Hell, why not nominate Bill Cosby or Denny Hastert for the seat?

How did the Republicans know to have that list ready in advance? How did the know to ask women he went to high school with to sign that list?  The candidate usually explains to the person nominating him any know issues that might come up. Obviously, this accusation of sexual assault and attempted rape was something he knew that might come up. Otherwise, the Republicans wouldn't have prepared the list and had it on standby.

"They can only vet what is known at the time of the vetting. "

So why didn't feinstein provide the letter to the FBI back in July?  Why didn't she bring it up when she had her private meeting with him?  Why didn't she bring it up in the hearings?  Why wait until just before the vote?

When someone sends you a request to keep something confidential generally you should try to do that.  I am sure you aren't aware of this but it is being reported today that White House Counsel Don McGahn knew about this claim sometime ago and he is the one that drafted the letter with 65 names on it.  Interestingly, of those 65 women, only two are sticking by him after the allegations.  There is a reason Mitch McConnell upon learning that Trump was going to nominate him urged him to nominate anyone but him.

it is not looking good for old Bart. The floodgates are open. The one person that could exonerate him, his old drinking buddy and alleged accomplice, has sent a letter to Judiciary committee refusing to testify.

They are uncovering all kinds of nuggets from his high school yearbook, prior speeches and Mark Juge's autobiography that recounts their times as drunken school boys.   Kavanaugh apparently vomited and passed out in a car on the way home from a party.  Could it be the party in question?

In 2015 old Bart had this to say, "Fortunately, we had a good saying that we’ve held firm to this day, as the dean was reminding me before the talk, which is, What happens at Georgetown Prep, stays at Georgetown Prep. That’s been a good thing for all of us, I think.”

One girl that knew Kavanaugh during his high school years is apparently saying Kavanaugh told her back then that Christine Ford is a liar don't believe anything she says.  So Kavanaugh has known about this accusation for a very long time.

Edited to add new developments: Apparently, there are two women that went to high school with the victim that can testify that she told them about the attempted rape shortly after it happened. Ivanka has also weighed in advising her father to, "cut bait."

This whole thing is smelling worse everyday. Feinstein looks like she is trying to cover her butt. Concerning Ford's assault claims, "I can't say everything is truthful. I don't know."

...and today, Ford demanded a "full investigation" by the FBI before she will attend any congressional hearing or "interrogation" into her accusations. She obviously doesn't want to be questioned about anything, especially under oath.

The timing of the release of the letter was a stall tactic by democrats. Ford's unwillingness to testify without her "demands" being met is another stall tactic, and would give her time to be coached on what to say if it goes that far. Democrats want to stall the vote on Kavanaugh's appointment to after the midterm elections, thinking their "blue wave" will make a difference. Ray Charles could see this!

You are taking Feinstein out of context. What she was saying is that it was an accusation not a fact.

Wow! Bob, I want you to read what you wrote below back to yourself and see if it makes any sense.

...and today, Ford demanded a "full investigation" by the FBI before she will attend any congressional hearing or "interrogation" into her accusations. She obviously doesn't want to be questioned about anything, especially under oath.

Do you see how that doesn't make any sense? If you are making something up, the last thing you want to do is call for an investigation by the FBI into yourself where you want every piece of evidence for and against your claim to be carefully examined and for yourself to be interviewed by FBI agents. Lying to an FBI agent is a federal felony punishable by up to five years in Federal prison. Just ask Mike Flynn and George Papadopoulos if you don't believe me.

She didn't want to go to the Republican's dog and pony show hearing where she wouldn't be allowed to present evidence or call witnesses at the conclusion of which Republicans would say it is he said she said.

There is a ton of evidence that came out today that indicates she is telling the truth.  Two of her high school classmates have come forward and said she told them shortly after it happened.  A woman that knew Kavanaugh in his high school days said he told her that his accuser was a liar back then. Plus those crazy yearbook descriptions that were selected and or written by Mark Judge.  Quotes from Mark Judge's autobiography where he described an incident when Kavanaugh vomited in a car and passed out because he was drunk on the way home from a party.  From everything that is publically out there now, it seems to me, Kavanaugh was a heavy drinker and partier during his high school days.  In an actual courtroom or law enforcement interview, his denial would likely be judged noncredible because of the high probability of him being drunk when the incident took place.
