$50. hour minimum wage. Just a political lie. Never happen.
Of course it won't happen, but that wasn't the goal. The goal was to point out that California's minimum wage, while historically high, won't support someone in San Francisco or other expensive areas.
Some people made a big deal out of this and as usual, tried to politicize it Then they started babbling about liberal this that blah blah blah. But here's the reality. If the cost of living makes it impossible to survive on a minimum wage, then if that minimum wage isn't increased, there will soon be no service workers and no entry-level workers. The community slowly dies
A lot of conservitards got all kerfuffled about this and didn't listen to Lee's message. A statewide minimum wage doesn't make sense. That's why, as an example, Seattle has a high minimum wage but the rest of the state doesn't.
Lee's suggestion was of course hyperbole, a rhetorical device that tends to go right over the heads of conservitards, possibly because their orange god uses it in every other sentence
Patricia, I'm also a San Francisco native, and I agree that the cost of living is insanely high. When you talk to a conservitard about this, he'll say that it's because of LIBERALS LIBERALS LIBERALS. It's actually because it's a beautiful, desirable place to live that ran out of room to build new housing over a hundred years ago.
Oh, and everybody wants that fresh sourdough bread :)
