I just point out the people who give and the people who take. 

Boilerman calls it "free shit" when the surplus states spend money...and he gets really upset when you show him the math with the welfare states that all vote the same way he does.    Thats why he wants to change the topic to black people or something.

The biggest free shit recipients in the country are states led by the leaders Boilerman and his kind vote for.  Thats not my opinion.   Thats a clear matter of record.       

How the heck did you get that PJ believes that black people should get lots of free shit from his post that you quoted?

Its a long standing diversion tactic on this board.    Everytime there is a school shooting somewhere in the country our resident non-racist posters will change the topic to black people in Chicago.

Every publicly funded long distance train is a train wreck.  We already have roads, and within decades, computer controlled electric cars will be drafting one another on highways at high speeds to save money and energy.  Trains will be a thing of the past before California has pissed away all the money.

Before California pisses away all the government train money, electric cars will be drafting each other at high speeds on interstate highways.  At the end ot a long trip and after a driver sleep, the driver will take the car to the final destination.  No train, no second train, no third train...and then no city train followd by busses.  Trains will be a thing of the past in except in 3rd world countries within several decades.

Although the whole concept of 'Donor States' is terribly flawed, let's just look at one aspect of this.

Since we're talking about the High Speed Rail boondoggle, if PJ were being honest and not a political hack, he'd just consider Federal Grants in his Trailer Park analysis.  He argued that rich California is a Donor State, so they should be able to waste Federal Tax dollars any way they choose.  High Speed Rail was a Federal Grant.  What if we examine the percent of Federal Grant dollars California receives compared to the percent of Federal Revenue it provides?  

How much will California receive in Federal Grants in FY2025?  $129,079,949,048.  15.9% of all Federal Grants

How much did California contribute to the Federal coffers in 2024?  $805,650,731.  15.8% of all Federal Revenue.  

Oh look.  pretty fair, really.  But they did get 129 million more dollars back in Federal Grants than their 'Fair Share'.  Damn, Trailer Trash bitter people who suck at life now want to waste billions more dollars.

This project has become the poster child for a poorly managed government boondoggle.  It was sold to poor Californians to be completed by 2020, with the entire San Francisco to Los Angeles route expected to cost $33 billion.  They've spent billions.  Not one foot of track has been laid.  They want 130 billion more dollars. If PJ and his Ilk think that's a good investment, I've got a bridge to nowhere to sell them.

Most rational people see it as:

1.  Money down the drain.
2.  Good money after bad.
3.  Time to cut our losses.

No one ever accused PJ of being rational, though.

Angry Charles, for all his posturing as someone "knowledgeable," has NO idea why track hasn't been laid, and I'm not going to enlighten him...except to give him a hint: MAGA opposition increased the costs and time of construction.

Angry Charles, in his abysmal ignorance, may not know that much, much work has to be done and yes, money spent before any track is laid ..but that would be well under way by now if not for MAGA.

Because stupid angry Charles doesn't like the comparisons that show CA as a donor state and his home shithole as a welfare state, he digs up federal grants as a comparison tool--which is utterly ridiculous, because federal grants depend on factors such as environment, terrain, and resources. For instance, Alaska receives massive federal grants but New York doesn't--not in the same proportion to taxes paid.

But we already know that when MAGA is losing the argument, they move the goalposts.

Individual electric car transport can never be even close to as efficient as mass transit by train.

And weren't you the one yeeping that EVs are "a Liberal hoax" because the electricity they use still has to be generated somewhere??
