California's zero bail policy at work

Sounds like kinda dumb policy, doesn't it?   Maybe.  Maybe not.

To be clear - the motivation is not bleeding heart liberals ignorantly believing criminals wont commit crime.   The mnotivation is criminals engaging in misdeamanors is a lower price to pay than spreading the virus in prisons that are among the most rampant breeding grounds.      You're free to have an opinion regarding which of those is the lesser of two evils.

I'm sure the families who have lost a loved one to COVID-19 would say that was a bigger price than some retard shoplifting a box of candy bars at a drug store.

(Oh - and uh - spare me the lecture about letting crimnials go unpunished.    The sitting attorney general has stated the our president can not be punished for crimes committed while in office.   Thats why the president's lawyer is sitting in prison for campaign fraud while the president himslef continues to commit other crimes.   And all of our law abiding conservatives on this board have stated thats a "no biggie". )

They just want to crap on California because Trump has a hard-on for the state. Their outrage at letting criminals go is manufactured and hypocritical. As you said, they supported letting the worst criminal in the US not only escape prosecution, but also stay in the White House.

What's disgusting is Boiler's and the Trump media's distortion of this event. Read the first sentence of his original post and compare it with the reality.

Kevin says - " Their outrage at letting criminals go is manufactured and hypocritical." That is BULLSHIT. The outrage is real and will only esculate as long as criminals are allowed to commit crimes.

The outrage is manufactured. The people arrested are still charged with crimes and are still required to appear in court. They will be arrested and held if they don't. A person who is arrested and released on his own recognizance (which is what is happening in this situation) is the same as one who posts bail and is freed.

Neither is being "allowed to commit crimes." This is only about how they are handled pre-trial, and the current extraordinary conditions have mandated a change in how that is done. No more, no less. It's not some vast liberal conspiracy.

As usual, PJ has to bring the President into a discussion that does not remotely concern him. Not staying on topic and deflecting the focus of the topic is the STANDARD lying liberal tactic when confronted with another case of their stupidity. If any of these crimes committed by this criminal had DIRECTLY affected PJ he would be screaming it is President Trump's fault and is worthy of impeachment because President Trump did not have the foresight to prevent this criminal from stealing from PJ - and Kevin would be right there backing up PJ.

No - I'm not talking about president Trump - I'm talking about you.  And specifically what a massive hypocrite you are on this very topic.

Your dismissive positions on FELONIES at the FEDERAL level by the president, his staff, and Republican Senators is well documented.    And here you are crying about some loser in California who stole a car.

You've dismissed the president's campaign felonies, his obstruction into the Mueller investigation, Republican Senator insider trading, .... and you gave a big blessing to convicted felon, Joe Arpaio's, pardon.

ANd lets be clear David - when Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, and Roger Stone are all pardoned by the president for their treasonous crimes of seeking and covering up foreign influence into the US election process - well, you're going to bless that too.    Cause thats how you roll.  And thats ok.  its not a crime to be a hypocrite or a moron.   And its not like they stole somebody's weed.

PJ STILL obsessing about President Trump, who is not the topic of this post. PJ and Kevin have no rational arguments about this topic - so their back up plan is ALWAYS to bring into the discussion President Trump.

Kevin's stupidity is never more clearer when he states -". The people arrested are still charged with crimes and are still required to appear in court. They will be arrested and held if they don't."----How stupid is that statement???  Expecting a criminal, that is arrested and in custody ( and then released on their own recognizance) to appear in court is beyond ludricous - AND then issue a warrant to arrest them AGAIN ( when they had him in custody previously before releasing them) is even more stupid than can be believed. What a dumbass! Clessic liberal logic.

Stalker apparently doesn't understand the most basic elements of the criminal justice system.

Every accused individual who is released, on bail or on his own recognizance, is required to appear in court and will be arrested and charged with contempt if he does not do so. That is a charge completely separate from the original offense.

Stalker never learned that. Maybe because judges have always denied him bail?

Kevin is obviously to stupid to comprehend that " required to appear in court" and "actually appearing in court" are two different things. And, oh wow, charging them with CONTEMPT is really going to make a difference. I am sure that charging them with contempt will scare them and make them appear - in a pig's eye!

Apparently, Stalker would also favor immediate incarceration for traffic offenses, because, y'know, no one ever shows up in court.

Also, he must live someplace with unlimited jail capacity. Come to think of it, maybe he lives in jail.

Stealing cars is not a traffic offense. Shut up idiot, there is no way you can justify your stupid comments.
