This is what I would like to see. Why not let each state and province decide which country they want to be a part of through an election? I suspect even a lot of red state rubes would vote for Canadian citizenship when they see how much better the Canadians have it.

Trudope has resigned and there is no plan - this is more made up and unverified shit from you. The proposing of tariffs is a way to get Canada's attention, which it has. They are not stupid enough to do as you lyingly suggest.

Here's another tariff "feature." A finished auto can wind up crossing the US-Canada border up to eight times in its various stages of completion. Will it be tariffed at each stage?
What will happen to the close interdependence of the Canadian and US auto industries? We sell each other parts, supplies, and transport.
Will we tariff all the hyrdoelectricity we import from Canada? What about the fossil fuels?
Trump has had many, many, many stupid ideas, but this one stinks even worse than usual.
