Canadian Airline cancels all US flights for Summer 2026

Slumping demand, with Canadian travel down 24.3% and air travel with Canada down 17.8%, prompted Air Transat to cancel all non-stop flights to Florida for the summer. No dates have been announced as to when they might resume.

A 24% drop in business is pretty significant, and it's worse because an unforced error caused it, or just run amok hubris.

Now they will find somewhere else to vacation and a lot of them will never be back even after America's Shitler is gone.

A lot of Canadians have vacationed in the US for decades and may not have even considered alternative destinations that might be better, nicer, and cheaper. If they scope out a spot that they prefer, that's a permanent loss for us. And I'm sure that's true for European and Asian tourists as well.

That sector of trade/commerce is one of the most beneficial for us and one of the most consequential to lose. We don't have to produce or manufacture anything to earn tourist dollars; we just need to provide services. So our marginal costs are small and our RoI is high.

So a real President with a real brain--unlike the babbling moron we have now--who wants to boost our economy would do all he can to foster and encourage tourism. Barfing out grandiose plans to conquer other countries, insulting them, breaking agreements and treaties, and ruining trade--well, the Turd's actions constitute exactly what a President should do if his goal is to choke off tourism.

I vacationed in Canada last year.Beautiful Rocky mountains.Very little negative communication.I did hear some people say they wouldn't visit US.

This president is incapable of considering consequences, let alone unintended consequences.  He is a very dangerous mixture of bullying, retribution, and arrogance.  

But as I've said before, there have always been stupid people, jerkasses, and jerkasses. In a normal society--which we clearly are not--he would be a crabby old rest home resident gumming Jello and barking at the nurses.

What concerns me most is the tens of millions of people who, despite or maybe because of observing Trump's behavior, are in passionate love with him. I'm still mystified. Why would anyone vote for that awful bag of shit?

I certainly wouldn't want to live among such people!

But what percentage of the faithful are saying now, "Well, maybe I shouldn't have voted for him."? 2%? 1%? Not many, that's for sure!

 It is their loss. Canada has leeched off of America for decades with their gouging tariffs. Canada's liberal economy is in the dumpster and blaming  President Trumps tariffs is just an excuse for the actions of the liberal governing of Canada.

Might want to reconsider that comment as LVA has a lot of members from Canada. Most of my Vegas friends are Canadian and it sure makes for some lonely trips now.

Trump is the worst person (rapist, likely pedo, convicted felon and number one pedo protecter) that has ever held the office of President. He truly is an awful person with no redeeming values whatsoever. Americans will still be paying for Trump's awful actions long after you and I are gone.
