Capt. Lincoln F. Sternn, Trumps mentor.

The antagonist in1981's movie Heavy Metal,  comes to mind when I watch the evening news.

Crooked, amoral space Captain Lincoln F. Sternn is on trial for numerous serious charges presented by the prosecutor consisting of 12 counts of murder on the first degree, 14 counts of armed theft of Federation property, 22 counts of piracy in high space, 18 counts of fraud, 37 counts of rape — and one moving violation.

ABC nightly news stories last night, led off with "Bombshell Trump Recordings".   Later "Whistleblower warning", story about his being told to manipulate Russian intelligence because it was making the president look bad.  Later "DOJ Seps in to Defend President Trump", relating  to a rape allegation against Trump in the 1990's, resulting in a defamation suit.

Movies are nice, but that are not real life.

There is one movie I wish had been real.  It was a fairy tale with a happy ending.  Quenton Tarantino's,

"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".  Chronicles the Charles Manson followers murders of Sharon Tate and her friends.

I'm guessing that the Tate family doesn't consider this a fairy tale, but I get your point.

I'm off to meet my black friend Dom for a cocktail because, we all know, that white guys with best friends who are black are racist.

Not exactly.

But someone who says some of my best friends are black? That's a pretty strong indicator.

"Movies are nice, but that are not real life."

That may be true, but some characters like Trump have a way of bringing fiction to real life.  So far, everything regarding bringing Trump to justice is playing out for former President Trump approximately the same as for Captain Sternn.  Still musing what kind of witnesses Trump ends up bringing at his upcoming trials for a similar variety of charges.

Enlighten us - if some of a persons best friends were black, how would you state that fact? And what is the "strong indicator" you refer too?
