CDC Coronavirus
Gosh, I wonder where that line that said number tested went? Unfortunately, Trump has turned the CDC into a propaganda arm of his reelection campaign.
Dunno. Poor old DonDiego just discovered this page and thought it might be of interest to some LVA'ers.
On the title page it does state:
"† CDC is no longer reporting the number of persons under investigation (PUIs) that have been tested, as well as PUIs that have tested negative. Now that states are testing and reporting their own results, CDC’s numbers are not representative all of testing being done nationwide."
Perhaps this is the "number tested" to which Mark refers.
Here is how the page changed.

Note: They removed total tested and total deaths.
I admit is pretty damn embarrassing we had only tested 472 people in the entire United States as of March 1st. The thing is they still aren't testing people. If the symptoms aren't bad enough to hospitalize them, they won't test them. The tell them they either have COVID-19 or the Flu but they can't confirm either one as the CDC won't allow them to be tested. They send these people home telling them to self-quarantine for two to three weeks. My guess is most of them can't afford to take off work for two or more weeks and go back to work.

And you seriously believe that the CDC is powerless to aggregate all the state-by-state data and produce a comprehensive nationwide report?
Why, in fact, wouldn't they do that, as doing so is one of their primary functions--unless they were ordered not to by some random asshole with orange hair?
Poor old DonDiego was just trying to be helpful by posting the CDC CoronaVirus page.
DonDiego is among the first to recognize that he often has no idea why the Govrnment does stuff.
Actually, if one has half a brain, it's very easy to discern why the government isn't performing one of its primary functions--in this case, ensuring the health of the public.
I'll give you a hint--the reason why sits in an office shaped like an oval.
I partially blame the current fiasco on the recurrent conservative philosophy: "Government is bad, and we need less of it." Well, we're certainly seeing the effects of Trump's government cutbacks now.
