Import more of what, Kevin? You remain baffled and clueless to the gasoline problem in California.
Problem 1. California has isolated itself from cheap domestic oil by refusing to allow pipeline construction. The state imports 60% of it's crude from foreign countries.
Problem 2. California has made the business climate so untenable that two large refineries are scheduled to close within 6 months. Few refineries outside the state are capable of producing California's unique gasoline, making it expensive to import. Unless the state's anti- refinery stance is changed, including massive subsidies to refineries, refining capabilities in the state will continue to shrink. 20% of the gasoline used within the state is produced at two California refineries that are shutting down by April 2026. When this happens, California will be forced to import more gasoline from very expensive sources. There will be supply glitches along the way. Already high gasoline prices are going to increase substantially when these refineries close.
Problem 3. Hyper Liberal California politicians simply do not grasp the problem that the continue build as rapidly as possible.
