Chicago public school spending vs something reasonable

Boilerman, you've been caught in too many lies. No benefit of the doubt from me.

Boilerman is presenting you with middle class suburbia in a town of 30k people compared to all of the Chicago Metro area.     and you can do with that what you want.   My IQ isn't low enough to play.

if you want to look at cumulative data at the state level you can visit this link.   Take note of the government party ruling the states at top and bottom.

The mean average SAT score in Chicago public schools is 914, while it's 1200 even in my town.  Plus a high percentage of kids take the test here and few take it in Chicago.  Chicago spends a shit load of money and a shit load of poorly educated kids.  The Liberal solution is always to spend more money.

You don't have even the vaguest idea what you're talking about, do you? There is no such thing as "mean average." Mean and average are two separate stats for a data set.

The average combined score for Indiana in 2024 so far is 971. An average of 1200 for a given community would place that community in the top 7%. If we're talking about a white, upper middle class suburban town, I suppose that's possible. But any place that lets Boiler live there must be overall quite a bit dumber than average, so I'm skeptical.

Hahaha, "mean average", racist boiler dropping in and dropping made-up stats. Does the Purdue football team gain 10 feet yards for a first down?

I'm slightly above average when it comes to this statistics stuff. Mean and average are synonyms.

This has been my understanding of mean and average, average is when you add up all the numbers and divide by how many numbers are in the set. Mean is the middle number in the set.

I could be wrong, and I'll be here to admit it. Thanks.

You're correct, Max. I think it's mean of us to point how average (if that) Boiler's intellect really is, but hey, he invited it.

BTW, the Scholastic Testing Service rarely, if ever, reports statewide SAT results in terms of mean, because that would be useless in evaluating overall performance. To illustrate: five students in Bog Hollow get scores of 200, 250, 350, 375, and 400, while five students in Splendid Gulch get scores of 340, 340, 350, 600, and 700. Both groups' mean is 350, but who do you think did better? And which group's parents are Trumpers?

Dang, I almost quoted the Kahn Academy explanation verbatim.

And Mister has no ability to find Chicago public school SAT scores and spending per student.
