Let me school you, stupid Tommie-poo. The immigrants who have been offered temporary shelter in large cities arrived here LEGALLY. Most of them presented at border crossings and asked for asylum.
If they had arrived illegally, they would not have been offered temporary shelter and residence.
So yes, many people arrive illegally. But the ones offered government assistance arrived legally. And being accepted and offered government assistance gives any immigrant legal status to remain here.
