This "72" number likely comes from tallying every single vaccine dose by age 18, including annual shots (like flu, COVID) and multi-dose vaccines (like HPV), rather than the number of diseases covered or distinct injections. (Google)

So then they will likely be more than 11 "jabs" with the new plan.

It was my understanding that the old schedule was a recommendation not a requirement.

Yes, recent changes to the US childhood immunization schedule reduced the routine shots for all children to 11 diseases, including Hep B (at birth), DTaP, Hib, Polio, Pneumococcal, MMR, Chickenpox, and HPV, with other vaccines like Flu, COVID, Hepatitis A, Meningitis, and RSV now recommended for specific high-risk groups or via shared decision-making with a doctor. While pediatricians are largely continuing the older, more comprehensive schedule for newborns, the new 11-disease baseline for universal recommendation aims for fewer shots but still covers essential protection, with insurance covering all recommended vaccines.

I'm curious why he chose to use the total number of doses in reference to the old schedule, but the number of diseases in reference to the new schedule. Seems unnecessarily confusing. I guess 72 vs 11 sounds more dramatic than 17 vs 11 or whatever the old number of diseases was.

I'm also unsure why he used the term required because as far as I know they were recommendations not requirements.

It is obvious to me - using the "total" got not only your attention but assuredly got the attention of many others who were unaware how the number of "recommended" shots had unnecessarily grown over the years.

David pretends to be a medical professional who knows which vaccinations are "unnecessary,"

😆😆😆😆😆😆

Then he does an RFKJ by calling them "jabs." Like a six year old would.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

As LiveFree pointed out, only a few childhood vaccinations are mandatory, so if a parent doesn't want to follow recommendations, they don't have to. Nothing to yeep about.

If Trump winds up forcing, or trying to force, everyone to do an RFKJ by issuing a Turd Order, that will only be obeyed in ignorant drooling goober red states. People will be able to travel to blue states to get proper medical care.

That's happened before. When Idaho's goobernator told citizens that they shouldn't get vaccinated against covid back in 2021, over 50,000 Idahoans traveled to Oregon and Washington to receive them.
