Chromebook vs. normal laptop

You can do TurboTax online.  The download software will not work on a chromebook.  I am dealing with this situation now.  Looking at FreeTaxUsa.com

Well, 9/10 of my job with them was not so much tax prep as advising people who had downloaded the software and were fighting to make it work. They will hire you as a tax preparer primarily or as an "advisor" who helps people using TurboTax as a DYI tool. They try to make their software an "ask the user easy to understand questions, fill in the blanks" platform, but the reality is that something almost always goes wrong. I worked 20 hours a week but could have done 60 during tax season.

The IRS used to have a free DYI for 1040, 1040A, Schedules A-F, and so forth. Then it was killed by the Trump administration in 2020.

Kevin, I think the rugged laptop you were thinking of. Is a Dell toughbook.

We used them at work And they were indestructible. I have no idea if one would met your requirements or not.

Probably would. Thanks!
