Archaic. civilization; culture; good breeding.
Poor old DonDiego notes that The Management of this website has taken notice of inappropriate behavior among a select few who disrupt the civil exchange of ideas among those who post in the LVA Fora.
DonDiego has 3 suggestions for those who may be among the "guilty parties", the application of which is likely to reduce the unpleasantness which has drawn the attention of "The Management":
i. One should not "namecall"; i.e. one should not resort to ad hominem "attacks" upon someone with whom one disagrees.
ii. One should not "classify" a poster with whom one disagrees as a member-of-a-group. and then proceed with ad hominen attacks upon the identified group. e.g, "You are a XXX, and people who are XXX's are despicable wretches who deserve to be destroyed and disposed of."
ii.a. It is also unnecessary to ascribe unnatural behaviors to those with whom one disagrees, unless the adherance to such behaviors is, in fact, a subject under discussion and the object of the charge does, in fact, practice unnatural acts.
iii. In summary, stick to the topic at hand; . . . . . present cogent facts and arguments addressing the topic as best one can to influence the opinion of those within the discussion.
DonDiego thanks the reader for his attention.
