Yes, and Republicans want to evolve us into a fascist dictatorship complete with book bannings and only allowing state sanctioned thoughts to be spoken in the schools and in private businesses.

Yes, if it's a book of porn we want it banned.  If it's a book telling kid that white people are terrible, we want it banned.

"Democracy" and "Socialism" are attributes of two completely different things.    I think  you mean to say the US has a hybrid of Capitalsim and SOcialism.

Its possible to have 100% Democracy and 100% Socialism.   And its possible to have 100% Autocracy and 100% Capitalism.   There is no such example of either....but its demonstrative of how those terms are not measuring the same thing.

It does get down to semantics though. The point is that our conservitards condemn SOOOOOOOCIALISM because they associate it--wrongly--with THEM COMMIES, whom they were trained to hate. What made communist nations a living hell wasn't that they were communist or socialist--it was that they were autocracies.

"Social democracy" refers to a socialist system that is supported by the citizenry via democratic means. Plain old socialism may or may not be so supported. So I think you do have to use that term and make that distinction.

Porn is free speech/expression. So is any book, etc. detailing how badly white people in America have treated black people. Free speech is protected by the Constitution, which we know you conservitards don't believe in.

The Bill of Rights includes activities you don't like. Too fucking bad.

White people were terrible.   As a white person it doesnt make me uncomfortable to honestly teach that chapter of history to everyone.  Ron Desantis?  Not so much.    He is terrible.

Kids should learn why the person who loses the election often gets proclaimed the winner anyway: slavery.

Kids should learn why the same number of senators represents both South Carolina and New York: slavery.

Kids should learn why one in every eight Americans are still considered second-class citizens: slavery.

Kids should learn why white protestors are called "patriots" but black protestors are called "rioters": slavery.

Kids should be ashamed of white history. It's not unlike postwar Germany; for about 20 years, their past was whitewashed in schools. That was finally stopped when authorities realized that young adults thought the Holocaust was no big deal.

Oh, you mean a book about Rosa Parks?

You know, Boilerman, I'm pretty sure a younger version of you would be vomiting over the kind of person you've turned into.

If there's one common theme in the history we've taught ourselves (at least up until recently), it's that the good ol' USA was noble and selfless and good and sweet and sugar-coated. The reality is that we've often acted like shit, to other countries and to our own citizens. The 19th century in particular was one big racist/capitalist grabfest, with greed and violence being the twin themes. Whitewashing that is a terrible disservice to our children. I realize that maybe the goobers don't want it discussed what great-grandpappy did, but too bad; it's history.

Censored history isn't history at all.
