Comparison: Trump and McCain

The Republican party, before it became nothing more than a gang of Trump lackeys, used to have some members who had honor and integrity. I admired them even though I often didn't agree with them. One great example was John McCain.

McCain served his country as a soldier, endured over five years in captivity, and came home a hero. Trump dodged the draft.

During the 2008 campaign, McCain told Republicans at his campaign rallies that Obama was a decent man and a good person, and that he respected him even though they disagreed. Trump incited crowds at his hate rallies to chant anti-Hillary slogans, used a childish nickname for her over and over, and encouraged his followers to shoot her if they got the chance.

McCain's last act as a senator was to save the health care of twenty million Americans. Trump's first act was to start a scheme to take it away.

McCain treated others, political opponents included, with decency and respect. Trump treats no one with decency and respect, except for Vladimir Putin and Sean Hannity. In fact, Trump's loyal lackeys are often the most prominent targets of his wrath.

Bottom line: John McCain was an honorable man. Donald Trump is not. And Trumpers dishonor themselves by supporting him.

I'm sure our Trumper contingent will respond that the above is all FAKE NOOZE and fling some Trump-toddler insults at me as well. I especially await with eager anticipation the fifth (or it may by the sixth by then) iteration of Stalker's "liberalism is an illness" rant. He absolutely can't help himself.

Euripides has been quoted as saying "talk sense to a fool and they call you foolish" - that quote is still true today.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God."  Matt. 5:9.  Words of Jesus in his sermon on a mountainside, commonly referred to as The Sermon on the Mount.

"Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end."  Proverbs 29:11.  The Book of Proverbs provides God's instructions on how to deal successfully with the people and issues of everyday life, including neighbors and government.  Solomon, the pinnacle of Israel's wise men, is credited as being the principle author.

John McCain probably made it into heaven quite easily.

It was such a defining moment when McCain admonished some of his nutjob Republicans and told them that his opponent was a decent man; while Trump egged on his insane MAGA followers, insulted Hillary, led them in hate chants, and encouraged them to shoot her.

Trumpers should be so ashamed--and I strongly suspect that many of them are, which is why they lie so vehemently. Republican decency and civility died with John McCain. He was able to work with those he disagreed with. Trump can't even sit down in a meeting with Pelosi, Schumer, et al. without immediately walking out of it like a petulant child.

It's a sad phenomenon that Trump has simply numbed everyone to his asshole behavior. His daily outrages now come off as routine and "same old same old." We're not even really offended any more--we just sigh and change Trump's diapers. He has no class and no honor--and we no longer expect any from him.

Yeah, Candy, if there's a heaven, John McCain is definitely there now.

Well then, let's add to Kevin's lunatic post of the day.  And let's compare Kevin's post, any of his posts really, and compare them to the good things he says about John McCain.  You want to look at polar opposites, look at McCain and Kevin.  Kevin is certainly no John McCain.

Kevin, keep whining, you have at least 5 more years doing it......and every post you make, makes my day.  Whine on comrade!

Trumpers...(sigh)

I'm disheartened.....no flowing rhetoric......no attempted beatdown......no clever response.  Tough to make a comeback when your own words trap you isn't it comrade?

After a while, I try to ignore barking dogs when shooting them isn't a viable option.

Keep on barking Kevin ...

New stakes out an indefensible position and has nothing to go to.  I think I'll go drink some of his tears.
