The top 1 % already contribute 48% of the federal income tax. Isn't that fair enough?
The US reduced it's carbon footprint in the past year, while China, France, Spain & Canada for example increased theirs.
The military reuested that amount & it is being used to improved the readiness & training for the US military units
Conservatives never get tired of the same old propaganda. It's a con that Republicans have been running since the early days of The Rush Limbaugh radio program. Saying federal income taxes ignores the taxes the middle class and working poor pay. Namely, Social Security taxes, Medicare taxes, federal and state gasoline taxes and sales taxes. Not to mention state and local taxes that include state income taxes, local income taxes, excise taxes and property taxes.
Over the last 20-30 years as Federal contributions to the states have shrunk as Federal Income tax rates and effective corporate income tax rates declined, many states have raised taxes drastically to make up for the shortfall.
Another thing to notice is that almost all of the taxes I mentioned above are regressive taxes. That is the less you make the higher percentage of your income in taxes you pay. For example, someone that makes $20k a year pays a relatively high percentage of their income into gasoline taxes if they have to drive back and forth to work.
Social Security taxes are capped at $128,700 meaning somebody making $20k a year pays 6.2% of their income in social security taxes, but somebody making $20 million pays less than one half of one half of 1% in social security taxes.
Overall, the middle class and poor are paying much higher taxes than at any time in our history to finance federal income tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. Now that those SOBs have gotten poor and middle-class taxpayers to pay a greater and greater portion of overall taxes, they are trying to steal social security money to fund even more Federal Income Tax cuts.
I am curious who do you think she is parroting? Democratic Socialism isn't a popular position in the Democratic party among elected leaders nor with its donors. There really isn't anybody for her to parrot is there? The only parrots I see are those in the conservative media.

The conversation has been over federal taxes. SS & medicare tax rates have been unchanged. How many people make $20 million a year anway. Federal gas tax is unchanged. The states with the highest tax burdens are democratic states & in spite of that many of them are nearly bankrupt.
How can the govt steal money from a bankrupt SS system to fund tax cuts?
