Its not Cortez's obligation to make everyone happy. And its not DonDiego's obligation to agree with her.
What I like about her is her courage to offer specifics so people like DonDeigo and (more importantly) her constituents can make an informed decision about what she stands for.
For example - her healthcare plan is not "something wonderful thats going to be way cheaper and cover everybody". Instead she lets you know plain and simple that she supports government run single payer insurance that is free of the corrupting variables that dominate our current system...and it will be paid for with your tax dollars. You dont have to like it. But at least its an honest answer to a very real issue. Until Republicans can show the courage to do the same they have no business critiquing people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
DonDiego thanks PJ Stroh for his recognition of obligations not applicable to Ms. Ocasio-Cortez and poor old DonDiego. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is, indeed, unlikely to make DonDiego happy, and DonDiego is unlikely to agree with her.
However, DonDiego must register his objection to PJ Stroh's directive that he cannot critique Ms. Ocasio-Cortez's healthcare plan.
DonDiego has purchased health insurance since his first employment and maintains it voluntarily to this day. Nowadays, that insurance combined with compulsory Medicare coverage covers poor old DonDiego's medical expenses quite well.
DonDiego would rather not pay for Ms. Ocasio-Cortez's undoubtedly compulsory plan.
Oh, by the way, . . . for those readers too young to know, DonDiego's physician's medical goup does not accept new patients who are covered only by Medicare, . . . another unpleasant fact-of-life with regard to Government programs.
n.b. DonDiego would not have purchased Medicare if it were not compusory, but he paid for it during his working life, so now he is using it. DonDiego thanks all taxpaying citizens.
