Congress spent $7.5 billion on electric vehicle chargers two years ago. How many have been built? One!

Susan, you can't post here, using such grounded common sense.  You will send Kevin into panic with that.

Uhhhhh...her post implied that you can't charge your EV when the weather is bad...or there are places where you can't "access electricity"...

So, yup, grounded common sense.

Wouldn't that take more "tax revenues" as you commonly tell us?

Then in another section of this forum I see you bitching and crying about the taxes that the Circa winners had to pay.  So which one is it, are you for tax revenues or not?  You seem to flip flop daily like most dems do.

Jerry, you're at your very, very STOOPIDEST when you're in your frequent "start an argument" mode.

EV chargers at rest stops could be contracted out to private companies and the electricity metered and paid for by motorists via credit card. Just like the gas pumps that are there now. DUHHHH, Jerry.

I never "bitched and cried" about the taxes the Circa winners pay. I challenge you to deploy your second grade reading skills and show me where I expressed any disapproval. I will be happy to discuss providing you with a third grader's reading course.

Oh, and unlike idiot brain-challenged conservitards, I don't knee-jerk consider taxes to be a bad thing. It depends on how they are used.

You were talking about how the government is the big winner.  Pretty much the same as whining about the taxes.

I'm for next to no government as they do next to nothing well.  Let's contract everything out to private contractors then.  How about that?  Do we agree finally?

But let me remind everyone that Kevin puts gasoline in his car just like everybody else.  He just likes to talk like he doesn't.

Congress at the urging of the Biden administration agreed in 2021 to spend $7.5 billion to build tens of thousands of electric vehicle chargers across the country, aiming to appease anxious drivers while tackling climate change. And it's yet to spend that money. So?

"Pretty much," my ass. Pointing something out isn't the same as complaining about it. But then, you know that. You're not an idiot, even when you pretend to be.

You really can't let go of this silly idea that how can I possibly be in favor of EVs when I don't own one. Fucking idiocy to keep saying that, Jerry. I'm in favor of wind farms, though I don't own a single wind turbine. I'm in favor of hydroelectric power, even though I don't own a dam. I'm in favor of solar energy, even though I don't own a solar farm (I do use solar panels when I'm camping). I'm in favor of tidal power generation, even though I don't own a single tidal power facility. I'm in favor of organic produce, even though not everything I eat is organic.

Get it? Finally? Once and for all?

As to your question about government--no. There are some things that the private sector does extremely shittily. There are some things that should never be done for profit. Medicine is the obvious call there. Other sectors include public mail, public defense, law enforcement, prisons, schools, and public roads construction and maintenance. All those things would be an incredible shitshow if they were done for profit, which is of course the only way the private sector would even touch them.

But in the case of a car, you could choose to put your $ where you mouth goes and yet you don't.  Hmmm....wonder why.

Because I only buy a car about once every ten years, and the one I'm driving, I bought in 2016.

DUHHHHHHH.
