It looks like Mike Johnson has rethought his position and has decided not to shut down the government after all. Word on Capitol Hill is that there are two reasons for this:
1) Johnson and the RepubliQ have realized that it wouldn't be a good look if the government shut down, and they would be blamed for it. That's the trouble with power--it comes with responsibility!
2) Even Johnson and his gang members have become sick of the constant yeeping of the Loudmouth Caucus. The likes of Bimbert and Mean Greene are almost as annoying to their fellow RepubliQ as they are to Democrats.
This doesn't mean, of course, that the RepubliQ is going to turn away from stupidity, evil, and woke woke woke woke woke virtue signaling. Nor are they going to puke on Trump. But this latest about-face does show that they aren't immune to political pressure and aren't planning to overthrow the government just yet. Stay tuned.
