Corona Virus Spikes in Las Vegas

Masks Now Mandatory at Gaming Tables Without Plexiglass Partitions

When the reopened some of the casinos of June 4, I said let's see what happens in two to three weeks.

Today is two weeks.

The casinos never should have opened up so soon. Even with the best-case scenario---that thirsty addicts would storm the tables--they didn't stand to recoup more than maybe half of their normal earnings. As it's actually turning out, people are wary and the casinos might see maybe 25% of the revenues they would have in a normal summer.

I really doubt they're going to even be able to cover their overhead. In the meantime, thousands of people will be infected, and hundreds will die. Employees are being forced back to work in what will still be drastically unsafe environments. And the unbelievable lack of a masks-at-all-times-for-everybody order will make those environments lethal--also, I doubt that any casino will forbid smoking.

The Vegas casinos will be deathtraps. Complete with resort fees!!!
