Coronavirus Causes Spike in Sale of Firearms and Ammunition

"The world’s largest gun store, in metro Atlanta, has had lines that are six and eight people deep. A gun store in Los Angeles had lines that stretched down the block. And at least one store in Idaho put limits on sales after its shelves were nearly cleared out.

Just as grocery stores have been stripped bare by Americans panicked by coronavirus, guns and ammunition have started flying off the shelves. Retailers say the buying frenzy is being fueled by consumers who are worried that people are becoming so desperate and unpredictable, they need to ensure they can protect themselves."

More Darwin at work. People lining up and crowding into gun stores.

And many of those people have never owned a gun before, so they'll end up shooting the dog, their own foot, or their neighbors. God forbid we should have something like a mandatory gun safety course before a person can be issued a gun permit. That would be a heinous erosion of our precious Second Amendment freedoms perpetrated by socialist liberals who WANTS TO TAKES AWAY ARE GUNZ.

Re the quote: protect themselves against what, exactly? The toilet paper-craving zombie hordes?

Kevin Lewis comments: "God forbid we should have something like a mandatory gun safety course before a person can be issued a gun permit."

As it turns out, such laws vary by one's State.

In some States mandatory gun safety courses are required, in others not-so-much.  Ref: Requirements for "Concealed Carry" by State

Turns out, the Deep South, New England, and the Far West are least restrictive.

Poor old DonDiego qualified, . . . so how hard can it be ?

Its to protect themselves from the looters that will inevitably show up at their door and try to rob them.

Either that or a Jehova's witness.

In any event it makes them feel safe.    To each their own.    I get the same effect from a nice soft blanket.

Heck, you can just purchase a "pamplet" from the Jehova's for a quarter, that is typically sufficient. Or tell them the neighbor just hit the lottery, they move along. Why would one waste a shell that would cost more?

Unfortunately, the states where gun-love is most prevalent are also the ones where there are the fewest gun safety laws. Any attempt to implement even the most modest gun safety laws is attacked and propagandized as TRYIN' TO TAKE AWAY ARE PRESHUS SECOND AMENDMENT FREEDUMBS.

In one of the Deep South states DonDiego mentions, I forget precisely which, a recent ballot initiative to keep children from carrying guns was defeated 2-1.

So how hard can it be isn't the real question. Tucky Buckford is deeply insulted by any implication that he needs to learn gun safety. After all, he learned to shoot a rifle when he was just a toddler, and it all went fine; yeah, he blew Grammaw's leg off, but she's OK now.

Kevin posts--Unfortunately, the states where gun-love is most prevalent are also the ones where there are the fewest gun safety laws.--- --- And, of course, those states and cities with the most stringent gun laws, such as Chicago, have the nations highest number of murders and crime in the nation.

Apparently, when you become a Trumper, you forget things such as that Chicago isn't a state!!!! MAGAMAGAMAGA SIS BOOM BAH!

Reading comprehension - Kevin, try it. --- I wrote---" And, of course, those states and cities". Apparently Kevin reads and comprehends ONLY what he wants that serves his twisted, lying purpose. MAGA
