 Republican lawmakers have also expressed frustration, with one senator, James Lankford saying: "We've got a long way to go to be able to get rapid, efficient testing."

Yes, it is.  There are people of Chinese descent residing all around the world including millions here in the US. Your use of  "Chinese virus" implies that racial or ethnic blame for the virus is legitimate. It is not.

The virus already has two names a colloquial one and a scientific one.   Both are easy to say and understand. The only purpose suddenly labeling it by ethnic group serves is in developing a scapegoat.
