A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll has revealed sharp partisan divides between Americans over the coronavirus pandemic.

In response to every question about whether a respondent would change plans that would expose them to others, like travel, eating out at restaurants, and attending large gatherings, Democratic voters consistently responded affirmatively at much higher rates than Republicans. For example, 61 percent of Democrats said they’ve stopped or plan to stop attending large public gatherings, but only 30 percent of Republicans said the same.

The more likely explanation is that, as with so many other issues, people with different political ideologies consume different kinds of information and take cues on how to think about events from different political figures and institutions. Given that President Donald Trump and media institutions that cater to conservative audiences, like Fox News, have been downplaying the issue from day one, it’s not surprising that Republican voters are not nearly as alarmed as Democrats.

This is where Trump-love and the evil, stupid tenets and ideology of conservatism change from harmful to deadly. Conservative pundits and Trump have been saying for weeks, hey, no problem, go out and shake hands with and cough on everybody. So yeah, I actually encourage Republicans to mingle. Have a nice big hate rally! Tongue-kiss your fellow Trumpers!

It appears that the coronavirus may have one positive effect--raising the collective IQ of the nation.

Also, when a vaccine is developed, that will be accomplished by scientists and healthcare professionals, all part of the American medical system that conservatives have been trying to destroy for decades. I'd like to say that only liberals should get the vaccine when it is developed. But we still have to keep Trumptards from infecting others. I'm just wondering how Trump is planning to put money in his pocket when the vaccine comes out.

There is a Trumper in Kentucky that tested positive and was told not to leave his home. He went out in public anyway. The state had to get a court order and now a law enforcement officer has to be stationed at his home 24-7 to keep the Trumper at home.

They're going to run out of police long before they run out of dumb people in Kentucky. Shoulda just shot the guy.
