"David Miller" may not be an actual person

I've been suspicious for some time now, that "David Miller" may be a troll-bot or some person, maybe in Russia, operating under a pseudonym. His posts are too frequent, and the "issues" he screams about are too random and disjointed, to be the product of a rational human's thinking. Plus, given that he never actually discusses anything or develops his ideas---his reactions to anyone's repsonses consist of screaming and name-calling, not discussion---I wonder if there's an actual human behind the facade.

I just received an email from "David Miller" that contained a link to an ad about some product that had appeared on "Shark Tank." I don't care about the product, and it was otherwise innocuous, but it indicates that "David Miller," whatever it actually is, is trolling the LVA website for people's personal info. This has happened to me before. I do NOT provide my email address to just anyone, and I sure as hell didn't provide it to "David Miller."

So given that "David Miller's" posts are nothing more than argument-bait and trolling, and the fact that "David Miller" may be something other than just another (deranged) LVA subscriber, I would say that responding to him might be risky. The consequence might be that you find your bank account drained six months from now, or that $5000 has been charged to your credit card by "Amalgamated Services." Internet scammers are clever.

Conspiracy Theory.  Tin foil hat time.

Hey David, I'd love one of those Shark Tank umbrellas for Christmas.  LOL.

Russians aren't going to waste their time on the very few eyeballs to be gotten here.

Also, they are better spellers than David.

My spelling might not be great, for I am not a typist and hit the wrong keys all too often. I miss correcting some of my spelling when proof reading, but, the content I post is factual.

David has been here for a very long time, so yeah, he is a real person. He has just been "radicalized" by social media over the last few years.

"radicalized , in my case = rational, clear thinking.

So why have I periodically gotten emails from "David Miller" over the last couple of years? Usually, it looks like they're trying to sell something. I guess you guys haven't?

When I was posting my LVA blog, my private email inbox got flooded with random shit daily, even though I never disclosed its that address. You've all seen the attempts by random nuts to take over entire sections of these forums. I think there's quite a bit of penetration by trolls, bots, and scammers on this website and attempts to get subscriber information.

There's lots of David Millers in the world including a famous South African cricket player.   The fact that you get spam from one of them isn't earth shattering.  The fact that you think the David Miller who has been posting here for many years is a russian bot sending you spam e-mail is a little paranoid.  If you start getting spam for penis enlargement supplements from "Charles" I had nothing to do with it.

I didn't say I thought that was the case; I said that I suspected that it might be. It could be just a coincidence. However, it's far from the first time.

But Charles...why do you wish to preemptively disavow spam attacks? Methinks he doth protest too much...
