Vance put on his "reasonable" hat (it didn't fit very well) and made excuses for Israel by saying a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon wasn't part of the ceasefire deal. He said that Israel would be asked to ease off.
The chance of everyone acting like rational adults is zero. This will fall apart faster than a Trump-soaked diaper.

Iran isn't negotiating. They've made demands that they know Trump will never agree to.
Sorta like what Trump has been doing to them! So much losing!
Oh BTW the Strait is closed again. Time for the Orange Pig to try some more bluff and bluster. Maybe this time, he'll threaten to nuke Tehran.

"Brink of surrender"? What's your evidence that they were close to surrendering?
And if they were on such a "brink," why did he back off? Why didn't he finish the job, if it was so close to completion?
Those who didn't want a war with Iran weren't "afraid" of it. They thought, correctly, that it would be horribly expensive, would disrupt the world economy, and would ultimately be pointless.
MAGA propaganda dismisses those concerns by accusing those who oppose the war of being "cowards."
Not wanting war doesn't make someone a coward. On the contrary, it means that such a person prefers diplomacy to violence as a way to solve problems.
