Why can't pj acknowledge the fact that $20,000 real estate taxes, 9% sales tax, $15 bridge tolls & one of the highest income taxes in the country is a major factor in people leaving the area?

Because the bottom line is they still make more money.

Speaking of which - How come you haven't left?    I mean, obviously you can get the same kind of work for the same money in low tax Florida, right?

"RED States have a lower Total Tax Burden than BLUE States"

Averaging the tax burden ranking from lowest=1 to highest=50:

Red States average 18.40

Blue States average 30.13

It's not how much you make, but how much you keep.

My sons had decent jobs in NYC, but moved to Phoenix & las Vegas, due to cheaper living.  I may move there since crazy Cortez wants to end plane travel in favor of high speed rail that doesn't exist

The Chief Executive of Starbucks, a well-known purveyor of coffee nationwide and beyond, is considering an independent run for the Presidency of the United States in 2020, . . . and Democrats are upset.

"The possibility of an independent presidential bid by Schultz has triggered a vigorous backlash among Democrats, who argue his candidacy could split the opposition to President Donald Trump and help ensure his re-election.

It just so happens that those Democrats are most heavily concentrated in the urban areas and coastal states where Starbucks does the bulk of its business.

Almost 7 of 10 Starbucks stores are in the roughly 500 counties Democrat Hillary Clinton won in the 2016 presidential election, a Bloomberg analysis of data from location intelligence firm Esri shows."

All poor old DonDiego can say is: " Go for it Mr. Schultz ! "

Mark Cuban too!

He's an actual self-made billionaire,  unapologetic Trump basher, and self-described libertarian.

I guess 2 outta 3 aint bad.

That is because red states are taker states not maker states. For every dollar a lot Red State residents collectively pay into the Federal Tax system they get more Federal dollars back. Blue states like New York and California subsidize these moocher red states.

There is a reason Google, Facebook, Apple and other tech companies are located in California.
