To answer your question, there are zero American citizens who are mayors in China. You have to be a Chinese citizen to hold mayoral office there.

Technically not treason. Definitely disturbing. If the allegations are true I'm glad she was caught and prosecuted. 

 

She of course is free to advocate for any government or any policies she wishes. That is protected speech. But being a paid agent of a foreign government working to publish prewritten propaganda, and then concealing that relationship is a crime.
