DemocRATs ant the Funding of ICE

Tom, the problem is their duty is not civilian law enforcement and that is what they are being used for in addition to rounding up "illegals". And they have been rounding up people that are legally here and illegally revoking their status and wisking them away before they get their due process a violation of their constitutional rights and this is often done in violation of existing Federal Court orders.

For years conservatives (including you) have parroted the line that they don't oppose immigration when people come here if they play by the rules yet that is exactly what they are doing violating the US Constitution and court orders to deport people that are here legally.

If you can't perform your core function without ignoring court orders and violating the US Constitution you're nothing more than a rogue agency staffed with goons and thugs.  I'd suggest a lot of these blue states adopt stand your ground laws so when these goons get violent they can legally be pumped full of holes by the good guys with guns.

And if you are honest you have to admit Trump is using them as his personal goon squad to intimidate blue states as I suggested he would prior to the election. All you MAGAs here laughed and said I was full of shit

Trump made comments about making nice with Minnesota and then he sent brown paper bag Homan out there and he demanded the Minnesota voter rolls as a condition of removing ICE. Which lays bare that ICE isn't there to round up "illegals". The whole point is to seize the voter rolls.

The Trump administration has already lost in court on that issue.   The ruling was no state is under any obligation to turn their voting rolls over to the Federal Government. Pass a stand your ground law and make it open season on ICE when they engage in violent behavior.  That would be one hell of a deterrent. If they want to live a thugs life they should meet a thugs end.

I will leave you with some words from the late Charlie Kirk, “The 2nd amendment is not for hunting, it is not for self protection. It is there to ensure that free people can defend themselves if god forbid government became tyrannical and turned against its citizens.”

So? Does that make it OK that citizens--hundreds of them--have been swept up in raids, confined for days without habeas corpus or due process, and eventually released with no compensation or apology? How would you feel if that happened to you?

Examples of "hundreds" or is this yet another one of your wild no proof statements?

Yes. Jorge, Jesus, Mateo, Juan, Eduardo, and Hector are US citizens who were swept up in the same ICE raid in Portland and confined in an ICE prison for eight days without a court appearance or access to counsel.

Glad to help!

You provide first names of random people with no context & that's your proof?

No, I told you some time ago that I don't obey your demands. I could in fact send you links to the stories about Portland ICE raids and what happened to American citizens. But would you apologize and say, "I guess I was wrong"? Of course not. You'd just say that the stories aren't real. Then you'd pull some irrelevant Tom-stat out of your ass.

You forfeited the privilege of civil discussion with me a long time ago.

No citizens have been deported

The gentleman did not claim that US citizens were deported.

You have erected a straw man.

However I am willing to come to the defense of the strawman.

January 2026: A 5-year-old U.S. citizen named Génesis Ester Gutiérrez Castellanos was deported to Honduras on January 11.

October 2025: Chanthila Souvannarath, a man with a 20-year claim to U.S. citizenship, was deported to Laos in defiance of a federal court order.

April 2025: A 2-year-old U.S. citizen born in Louisiana was deported to Honduras. A federal judge described the incident as "illegal and unconstitutional".

April 2025: Two U.S. citizen children, ages 4 and 7, were put on a deportation flight to Honduras. The 4-year-old was undergoing Stage 4 cancer treatment and was reportedly sent without his medication.

(The above examples are made with assistance from Google AI)

There are also a lot of reports of citizens being unlawfully detained.

A lot of homes being illegally entered.

I am absolutely not saying that immigration enforcement is unnecessary. It is very necessary.

I am saying it ought to be done in a better way. And yes, I am in agreement that some of things happening are continuations of or stem from policies that have been in place for a long time. But that doesn't mean that things shouldn't change.

I also acknowledge that it appears some jurisdictions had policies of letting immigration violators that were convicted of violent crime back to the streets rather than turning them over to immigration officials. This is an absolutely absurd policy.

The children were deported because the parents were deported so this don't count

So with over 390,000!you came up with 1 person or .0000003%

The violation of a court order doesn't count?

Either way. One is still greater than none and is enough to defeat the strawman you erected.

Now that your strawman comment of "no citizens have been deported" has been defeated do you care to address the gentleman's actual comment?

In case you forgot the gentleman stated:

".....the problem is their duty is not civilian law enforcement and that is what they are being used for in addition to rounding up "illegals".
