Tallarico best Crockett in the Senate primary. That's a relief, because a black woman has NO chance to achieve elected office in Texas. None.

Tallarico is a good candidate, since in addition to being a member of the only electable race and gender, he's a professed member of the God Squad and thumps the Bible in his speeches every chance he gets. That sells well in the Lone Brain Cell State.

Meanwhile, Cornyn and Paxton are due for a runoff in May. Cornyn got more votes by a narrow margin, but neither hit 50%. Paxton is an evil MAGA troll, and even some Republicans are getting sick of him, so I hope he wins. He would be a much easier opponent.

Can this be the year when Tay-ucks-ass elects a Democrat senator? (Of course, if that happens, that will mean that the election was rigged.)

Texas Republicans are firing up plans to restrict voter turnout, like they did in 2020 when they closed every polling station but one in Houston, snd "election monitors" armed with automatic weapons were sent to minority neighborhoods to stand and scowl at people waiting in line to vote.

People are in favor of health care until they are told their taxes will go up.

We have been told about global warming; cooling, rising tides etc for years and it hasn't happened

Times have changed. People now understand that the whole your taxes will go up was and is a con. The bottom line is what your total expenses are including taxes. Subsidizing large corporations so they will sell us health insurance is nothing more than a welfare program for big corporations.

Single payer model is a scam.  In addition to higher taxes there are these problems.

Govt programs always cost much more than anticipated.  Remember when obamacare was going to reduce the deficit?  Instead costs have doubled.

The fraud rate for medicare/medicaid is much higher than with private insurance.

Countries that have single payer systems also have private insurance to cover what the single payer doesn't cover.

Medicare doesn't cover everything and it has premiums and deductables.  You also have to buy private coverage such as Advantage which has a limited number of providers, premiums, copays and deductables.  You can also get the more expensive Supplement  Plan which pretty much covers what medicare doesn't cover.

I've posted the data as to what other countries pay for healthcare compared to us whilst getting better outcomes.    It's a lot lower.

the problem is people like Tom don't pay attention to data unless Trump,or FOX news tells them to.   Luckily Trump is embracing some of the same policies Tom called socialism just a few short years ago.

voter turnout  in both primaries was about he same, ... that's not a good sign for MAGA
