DeSantis's crusade to make Florida dumber

"The people." COLLECTIVE right.

Stupid Tom.

The restrictive clause that begins the Amendment limits its scope and applicability.

You weren't brief and SCOTUS disagrees with your collective rights, and all current 2nd Amendment cases are interpreted based on laws and regulations in place at the time of the founding.  And hey, private citizens had state class warships with cannon.  And yes, I can own a cannon if I want.  Would seem a bit odd at the top of the stairs however.

SCOTUS has made some truly horrible decisions recently, including ignoring the Fourteenth Amendment in killing Roe and anointing Emperor Trump retroactively with its immunity ruling. And historically, they've had some real whoppers.

You're contradicting yourself when you say that current Second Amendment cases are based on 18th century laws. You yourself said that situations have come up that the FFs never imagined. Such as the ability of one person to kill a hundred people in ten seconds.

At the New College of Florida, a school that DeSantis admits is a pet project, 30% of all professors departed. That is tom's version of "nowhere is there any evidence."

They left voluntarily, nobody was fired.  The school has 689 students and 125 teachers a ratio of 5 to 1.  Seems like they were overstaffed.

Still no evidence

Only in Florida--The Florida legislature, a dead-red ultra right-wing body of kookoo birds and conspiracy theorists, has partnered with Florida Man in a crusade to remove tenured professors who aren't Republican from Florida universities. There's a board of six people, all MAGAs, that has the power to remove any university professor's tenure and essentially, force him/her to quit. The head of that board said that his job was "to eliminate woke liberalism in our institutes of higher education."

So far, fifty professors have had theur tenure revoked and been forced to retire. This despite the fact that "tenure" is an agreement between professors and universities that their jobs are permanent.

Florida will slowly get even dumber as universities lose professors and can't get anyone to come there and teach. All because of some donkeys braying, "Wokw woke woke woke woke."

An agreement of permanent professor employment regardless of performance is such a great Liberal idea.

It is NOT "regardless of performance." The agreement is contingent on the professor's fulfillment of several stringent requirements.

If you had ever come within five miles of a university, you would know this.

What percentage of tenured professors are fired, Kevin?  It's  a cesspool of Liberal ineptness.

I know I'm speaking to an idiot, so I'll be brief. The Second Amendment confers a COLLECTIVE, not an individual right, TO FORM A MILITIA. It doesn't confer a carte blanche right to own deadly weapons.

The limitations on free speech that have been codified into law by the Supreme and other courts apply to text messages and emails that are PUBLIC. Private communications between infividuals aren't subject to those limitations.

One primary function of our legal system is to interpret the Constitution in the light of situations unanticipated by its framers.

End of your civics lesson, which you apparently badly needed.

The 2nd amendment had nothing to do with stopping tyranny.  The second draft by Madison was a slave control amendment.   Here is one of the outstanding articles explaining this.   https://truthout.org/articles/the-second-amendment-was-ratified-to-preserve-slavery/

This is project 2025 at the state level.

Trump and his know-nothings plan to do the same thing at the Federal level upon taking power.   Lifetime employees will be replaced with sycophants with no skills beyond worshipping at the altar of stupid.

President Nixon's Republican Supreme Court Chief Justice, Warren Burger, not a DemocRat in most people's opinion, had this to say: "The gun lobby's interpretation of the Second Amendment is one of the greatest pieces of fraud, I repeat the word fraud, on the American People by special interest groups that I have seen in my lifetime"
