A disgusting yet hilarious gaggle of unprincipled, lying assholes

I refer, of course, to the RepubliQ debate airing tonight.

There's only one candidate who is daring to criticize Trump--Florida Man. Of course, that's because none of the others can decide whether they want to oppose the Orange Turd in a long-shot bid to secure the nomination, or to audition for the role of Pence II--gluing their lips firmly to the Turd's ass.

It is hilarious to hear a RepubliQ put the blame for the deficit where it belongs--squarely on the Orange Turd.

Mommy Swami seems to be accomplishing little other than antagonizing everyone in the room.

This is actually fun to watch. Like a pit full of snakes devouring one another.

What a bunch of servile cucks.

Hey, there was some serious truth-telling going on. For example:

Ron Desantis:"[Donald Trump] owes it to you to defend his record where they added $7.8 trillion to the debt. That set the stage for the inflation that we have now."

On Twitter, President Biden responded, "Couldn't agree more."

Yeah, except for the fact that the deficit doesn't have diddly-fuck to do with inflation. After all, we had "normal" inflation for several years after Trump created that deficit.

The deficit's primary effect is on interest rates. The government is forced to enter the loan market and sucks up funds that might otherwise be used in the private sector. So, heightened demand raises prices--as in, interest rates.

We're OK with the deficit as long as our credit rating remains exemplary and the cost of borrowing remains (relatively) low. But the RepubliQ is taking care of that! The government shutdown will cost us our credit rating (aside from the other gigantic costs).

I also wonder if it is slowly becoming apparent to the American public that Biden inherited a massive shitshow after four years of non-governance and he deserves credit for keeping everything from completely falling apart.

I think about half the debate the candidates preached  about law and order....in the context of ignoring their party's front runner who is indicted with 91 felonies.    Chris Christie excluded.

ANd I loved Ramaswamy's faith-based monologue about the  assistance programs by taking food stamps away from single moms.  And going to church.    That would make their deadbeat baby-daddy move back in and pay bills.   Holy shit.

I'd be ashamed if I were a Republican after that debate. Other than the fat man, it was the most pathetic collection of sissy boys and girls I have ever seen.  You are running for the Republican nomination and you don't think to mention the front runner's entire career was just declared a fraud by a court and the front runner wants to execute the current chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Not to mention he was ruled a rapist and he has 91 pending felony charges.

Is it a requirement that Republican candidates for elected office cut their balls off, put them in a blender and then drink them? It sure seems that way.

I guess it's a Zen question to ask, if the above is true (and I think it is), how it is that the flagship of the Democratic party is, at best, a coin flip versus Mr. Trump? What does that say about Mr. Biden, the American people in general, or how American elections are decided?

None of this is, in my opinion, solvable in any real way.

Anocracy Now, baby.

It's only a coin flip because of the Electoral College. In the "close" election between President Biden and criminal defendant Trump, Biden won the national vote by a larger percentage than Reagan when he defeated Carter - in a wipeout, right?

First of all, the polls produce skewed results because they ask about Biden vs. Trump but don't provide an option of answering "neither." Thus, the only ones who actually answer are the MAGAs- and the Biden fans. And other polls have shown that the support for the Turd is stronger than the support for Biden, percentage-wise within their own parties..

BUT...

This ignores the voters who will hold their noses and vote for their party's candidate and those who will stay home. The polls suggest that the RepubliQ would have a LOT of sit-this-one-out voters in a Trump/Biden contest, while the Democrats would have a huge turnout in that scenario. After all, it happened last time! How many Democrats voted "not Trump" in 2020? I sure as hell did! Biden was about my ninth choice in the primaries, but I would have voted for a potted plant if it was running against the Orange Turd.

Factor in the abortion issue, add that to anti-Trump revulsion, and you'll have a record Democratic turnout, and a very weak RepubliQ turnout.

Getting back to the "debate," criminal defendant Trump said he would pick any of them for VP.
