I've not watched the show, have had no opinion on Kimmel, but this is like the high end entertainers spouting political opinions during their concerts. I hate it and personally feel it doesn't belong. Sorry his show got canned, but he was asking for it. JMHO.

He is a late show comedian. It is his job to talk about current events in his monologue. That has been the format of the late night TV shows for the last 50+ years. He didn't say anything that was remotely offensive. The only reason he got fired is because the Trump administration told ABC they were going to pull their license and deny the merger.
There is nothing like the smell of fascism in the morning. Government controled media and thought police in the United States who would have thought we would have lived to see the day.
The FCC chairman threatened ABC earlier in the day. A few hours later ABC affiliattes vowed not to air the show. Then ABC itself canceled the show.
He wasnt cancelled for ratings. He was cancelled because Trump's authoritarian regime leaned on ABC.
Remember when the right was crying about being censored and cancelled? Nothing Joe Biden did rose to the level we are seeing from Trump.

His ratings have declined 43% in the past year & are down 75% from a few years ago.
The market has spoken. People don't like his show. Most shows are canceled with those numbers.
