Disney yanks Kimmel's show following backlash over Charlie Kirk assassination remarks

Oh, not that it matters, but Kimmel was telling the truth. The shooter was indeed MAGA. He also had a transgender boyfriend. MAGA is trying to say that that made him a liberal. LOL!

And Kimmel should not have the government telling him how he should shape his narrative. Period.

 The FCC chairman threatend ABC earlier in the day...and then ABC decided to fire Kimmel.   

Its an exercise of purposeful ignorance when MAGA (and people on this board)  pretend the former  didnt happen or was somehow irrelevant to his dismissal. 

Im not interested in pointing out the hypocrisy of Team Ivermectin and all the BS  shit they cried about during Biden.   No need to relitigate how  upset they were when  Facebook was factchecking MAGA posts telling people to take Fish Tank cleaner to treat COVID.   We already know MAGA is a bunch of hypocrites - especially the ones on this board.

The bigger problem is TRUMP once again bullying organizations.    If ABC wants to fire Kimmel - fine.  Who cares?  But thats not what happened.   And people pretending like it did are  ignorant - either willfully or not.

You have lots of willful ignorance on display in this thread. People saying ABC chose to fire him on their own while at the same time Trump is publicly thumping his chest saying I got Cobert and Kimmel fired and I want the other two late night hosts along with the ladies on the view to be fired.

Trump seems perfectly fine accepting responsibility for it but conservatives don't want to give him credit for a deed he wants credit for. 

I guess that's what they have to tell themselves otherwise they have to admit they are in part responsible for all of this fascism because they voted for it.

It is said that in America "an uninformed vote counts the same as an informed vote", this mentality attempts to blend political exercise with free expression, sometimes resulting in confusion, misunderstanding, or error.

No chest thumping "look what I did" there. (And don't think I am excusing Trump for anything in this.)

And, Mark, read Trump's post on social media:  "Great News for America:  The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED [Trump's caps].  Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.  Kimmel has ZERO [Trump's caps] talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that's possible.  That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC.  Their ratings are also horrible.  Do it NBC!!! [Trump's caps and three expl points].  President DJT".  

Again, no "look what I did" here. (Why did Trump name NBC, as it was ABC that acted to suspend JKL.)

Aside from those low-brow comments being really embarrassing coming from a sitting president, there is no "I did this" from Trump in either of those.  Maybe you read it somewhere else (other than in Kitchen Sink, please). And if you dig deep, Kimmel's show has lately outrated Colbert's usual #1 rated show in the age 25-54 demographic.  Perhaps Trump uses different number crunchers.

And, has Colbert been "fired"?  If so, I've missed that one.   Careless?

The hosts on Fox News, News Max and so on say truely awful things every day and there is rarely repercussions. Hell just last week a Fox News host said we should euthanize all the homeless people by sneaking up on them while they are sleeping and sticking a needle in their neck.

Think about the truely awful things conservatives said about Obama.  Trump led the conspiracy that Obama wasn't born in this country. Should Obama have sent the Federal Government after him because as you put it he spoke carlessly?

I put my money where my mouth is. I canceled Hulu and Parmount plus. And ABC is getting nervous because they are suddenly receiving a high volume of cancellations and major producers have said they won't work for them until they reinstate Kimmel.

Historically, the crushing of freedom of speech by totalitarian regimes has usually been a slow, gradual process. In fact, all such obliteration of freedoms has been insidiously gradual.
