That's because both Trump and his attorney, John Eastman, knowingly made false statements to the Federal Court. And the really cool part of this is that client-attorney privilege does NOT apply to their emails over this matter because of the crime-fraud exception. That is, there is no privilege when both the attorney and the client are committing a crime. Time for Eastman to lawyer up! (Actually, he already has.)
I don't know if Trump will ever get nailed for any of this, but there will be multiple attorneys who lose their licenses to practice.
