You conveniently left off the part where they can go to court and see if the Judiciary will force the Executive Branch to appear. But they didn't do that, did they honey bunny? Why not?
They're already IN court, doofus--the impeachment inquiry functions as a court proceeding. Congress has the power to issue subpoenas, and has always had that power. They don't need the courts to validate that power.
Pelosi et al. could actually charge Trump and his lackeys with contempt of Congress for ignoring subpoenas and have them arrested. They've chosen not to do that. Why? Tactics, I suppose. They don't want to give Trump a pretext to whine that he's being treated unfairly.
Also, yes, ignoring subpoenas can in and of itself be considered an impeachable offense and every time Trump does it, or one of his lackeys does it at Trump's direction, that strengthens the case for impeachment. Presidents are not supposed to consider themselves above the law. They, like any other citizens, are legally obligated to respond to subpoenas. Every time Trump ignores a subpoena, he just digs the hole he's in a little deeper.
