Don Lemon Forced to Give Groveling Apology to CNN Staff

More about this liar --https://www.thedailybeast.com/don-lemon-forced-to-give-groveling-apology-to-all-cnn-staff-after-saying-nikki-haley-was-past-her-prime?fbclid=IwAR3zUO7UqHjKACfSVBcU0gz0DnqR0eel86bZLgrejPLLMRorfxsM2hA7YFQ

I sure do miss "HLN with Robin Meade".  What a day brightener, great crew, news without angry political slants/slams.  Coy Wire (sports), Bob VanDillan (weather), Jennifer Westhoven, Melissa Knowles, (celebrity/fashion news), so many more.  Seems like they got the axe rather suddenly.  I for one was shocked, and the whole crew (camera, etc) looked like they had sad smiles in the final photo.  I guess they were too nice for CNN, their parent company, to abide.  JMHO.

P.S. I'd never even heard of Don Lemon before  "my" HLN..." was shut down, so this isn't any sort of opinion about him personally.  But the replacement show"Headline News on CNN" is "dry as dust" IMO, just another "me too" slanted news show.  Again, JMHO.

Millerscum lied three times in his thread title. He wasn't "forced," it wasn't an "apology," and it wasn't "groveling."

CNN, like every other news network, makes staffing decisions. They go by ratings, and that's ruthless, as it has to be, since it ties directly into ad revenue.

Did you catch what Mother Tucker said in his recently revealed conversations? Their willingness to lie for Trump (after the election) was affecting Fox's stock prices and ratings. I don't know the timeline, but I seem to remember that while they didn't admit they were lying, they dialed it back for a while. Even though their avid viewer "base" (very base people) were lapping it all up.

IMHO, you'll never see a completely truthful, completely unbiased for-profit news network. Of course, CNN is an actual news network and Fox is a masturbation/entertainment aid for the mentally deficient, but they both can be slanted towards what their viewers want to hear. And before anyone objects to my characterization of Fox News, I'll add that MSNBC can be biased in its reporting as well.

There's also the two competing (and incompatible) reasons why people watch network news: to find out what's happening and to be entertained. The trouble is, the more objective and factual a news program is, the more "dry" it's gonna be.

And we have a cadre of 75 million goobers out there who absolutely, positively are NOT interested in the facts.

HLN was canceled because CNNs new owner, Discovery, wanted to cut costs.  Discovery also thinks there isn't much of a future in hard news.  Discovery is trying to remold CNN into a FOX lite. It's ironic all of these stories David posts about CNN's problems, low ratings and such, are because of the incredibly stupid idea to make the network more conservative friendly. MSNBC actually tried that once too and it was an epic failure.

Well, that's an incredibly dumb decision on their part. Fox has flourished because it occupies a unique position--the repository of all Trumpy truthy truth. Their whole shtick has been that they aren't part of the "mainstream media." Now, if there are competing conservitard news outlets, they'll be fighting each other as which particular set of lies they tout is da troot.

That's the trouble with lying--it's hard to be consistent. If, say, Fox were to tell us about the the Biden earthquakes and CNN blaming them on "woke" teachers "grooming" our children, they would be contradicting each other instead of screaming about them goddamn liberals ruining Amurrica.

There's a reason why Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia didn't have competing news outlets.
