I didn't realize that when MAGA was chanting, "drill, baby, drill", they meant in Venezuela. MLAG(Make Latin America Great) is the slogan for Trump, it seems.

We have ample supplies of oil (albeit some of them now Trumpiffed), so additional exploration and drilling aren't cost-effective. And conquering and looting Venezuela can't even be justified on the basis of need for their oil.
There's no way IMHO that Venezuelans will tolerate the raping and looting of their country. This is going to make Iraq and Afghanistan look like an ice cream social.
Republicans sure do like to start wars, don't they? The last 80 years it's been: Truman(D) Korea, Eisenhower (R) Vietnam, G.H. Bush(R) The Gulf War, G.W. Bush(R) The War in Afghanistan, The War in Iraq.

It's an artifact of their overall "might makes right" worldview, which was born in the 1950s and hasn't matured over time. Ronny Raygun reinforced it until he made nice with Gorbachev. Then 9/11 and Dubya's clumsy response pumped it back up to an eleven.
You can see it in Trump's belching. He postures that he truly believes that we "SHOULD" dominate and own the Western Hemisphere. Whether he actually thinks that way is questionable; he may just be throwing red meat to the MAGA animals.
So your point is correct: ideologically pure Republicans absolutely love war and consider it a not only vital but absolutely moral tool to use to produce national glory.

Vietnam started in 1950. Under Truman.
Greenland too.
Trump says we can take them the easy way or "hard way". Oh, and he threatened to start shooting Iranian officials too.
Arent you glad we have the stable genius in charge instead of a guy with a whispery voice that was respected by all our allies and wasnt threatening more nation building?

Nope. We weren't involved until much later. The battle of Dien Bien Phu was in 1954...and it was against the French.

After researching, I'm going to say Lyndon Johnson(D) Vietnam War. Looks like it's 2 for 2 in starting wars and 3 R's to 2 D's in the number of wars.

Well, it depends on how you define "starting wars " The first deployment of "advisers" to South Vietnam was in 1955 (Eisenhower). The first large-scale deployment of ground troops was in 1965 (Johnson). And the war had already started when we got involved in 1955.

Truman sent soldiers in 1950 as "advisors" to assist in the French occupation. Supposedly not for combat but to "advise" and to "guard U.S. military assets operated by the French". From there the amound of "advisory troops" escalated until the government officially admitted to sending combat troops.
I guess we have to decide how we define "started". First U.S. boots on the ground? Involvment in Operation Castor? Operation Vulture? Kennedy's troop escalations? The Golf Of Tonkin?
