When Trump threw a monkey wrench into the "sell" part of that with his STOOPID, STOOPID trade wars, he fucked over all the fossil fuel companies that had given him billions of dollars to make sure he preserved their dominance. Part of his pea brain really, truly thinks that trade is bad unless we have a massive advantage. We have no such advantage in fossil fuels; we're not the only producers, not by a long shot.
