You are never amusing. You also lie, a lot - as proven by your many postings.

Troll.

Once again - Troll, definition -

Internet troll - Wikipedia--

In Internet slang, a troll is a person who starts flame wars or intentionally upsets people on the Internet by posting inflammatory and digressive,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroupforumchat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses[2] and normalizing tangential discussion,[3] either for the troll's amusement or a specific gain. -- I believe this term describes Kevin exactly.

For those who are unaware, . . . the above editorial cartoon pertains to an actual event:

" During chaos at the Wisconsin State Capitol Tuesday night, protesters tore down two statues that have stood in front of the statehouse for decades — including one memorializing a Wisconsin abolitionist who died trying to end slavery during the Civil War. "

Ref: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 24 June 20020

Nonetheless, . . . the incident provides an excellent learning experience, . . . something about mob mentality and its effect on personal behavior.

Agree.

Look at the tubby guy. "SOCIAL JUSTICE" on his shirt, holding a BLM sign in left hand, a "DESTROY HISTORY" sign (take note of that one) in his right hand, yet he cheers the very destruction of a monument to Black Lives Matter, and destruction of history (some are doomed to repeat it, right?).  The couple proposing "Defunding Public Education" tags onto the unwise sentiment of defunding law enforcement (not the solution in either case).

Ever try to create a political cartoon?  Such was an assignment in one of my high school classes.  I remember mine being very lame, didn't really make a point, because 1) I didn't 'get' how to combine irony with wry humor to illustratate an idea, and 2) I couldn't think of an idea to illustrate.   I seem to remember the teacher showing a couple of good ones drawn by classmates who did.

Depending on one's point of view, cartoons can entertain, just make a 'point', or annoy, like this one annoys Kevin.  Others illustrate a commonly held sentiment, such as something about Memorial Day or the Challenger explosion.   Election years, scandals, and hot button issues bring about some of the best.

Candy, what annoys me is the continual efforts by the right-wing propaganda outlets (such as the LVRJ) to discredit the protestors and their grievances by focusing on some stupid and/or violent acts performed by SOME of the protestors. Why wasn't the stupid cartoon about the racial injustice that sparked the protests? Because the alt-right wants to obscure that fundamental issue. I know what their goals are--to perpetuate racial injustice.

Candy, you DO realize that the figures depicted on the cartoon are straw men, right? Do you?

Also, despite the frequency of use by conservative pundits of the phrase "destroy history," history can't be destroyed. We can change the way we look at it, but that's not the same thing.

You know why I don't post left-leaning editorial or other cartoons? Because all they do is illustrate someone's opinion. Does anyone really thinks that someone will look at some cartoon and thoughtfully stroke their chin and say, "Yeah, actually, this guy is right and everything I believed up to this point is wrong" ?

IMO the cartoons entertain, lampoon, convey an opionion, make political discourse.  Like editorials themselves, if one on a given day is left leaning, righties may not find it so funny, and vice versa if right leaning, or neutral.  I doubt they change hearts and minds.  But ain't America great?!  Freedom of speech and the press and all that.

Editorial cartoons have been around for centuries.  Every newspaper has a cartoonist on the staff.  Every paper has one or two cartoons every day, some days those of their own staff cartoonist, some days of others.  I believe this suggests that the cartooons are a central part of a newspaper's attraction, i.e. circulation.   Maybe that high school assignment gave me an appreciation for the art.

The different styles, the caricatures, the humorous sides of current events.  Gotta love 'em.  Or not.

Actually, it's your buds the Boogaloo's that did it.

I am really very interested in the question of restoring the normal functioning of the education system after quarantine. I am currently writing a big research paper on this issue, which should become a part of a big research paper in the future. I am very much helped by professional research paper writing service papersowl.com, which employs professionals, people with higher education and even academic degrees. This is not an average service where you can order an essay and you will be written in poor quality. The level of qualification is very high here. With their help, I found very worthy articles and sources on statistics, economic reports on education before and after quarantine. I recommend it.
