Naah. There will be a lot of mindless, repetitive tasks replaced by AI/bots. That will free up people to do work that actually requires human intelligence.

 

They said that the advent of automobiles would put millions out of work. But you know what, carriage drivers, stable hands, farriers, blacksmiths, etc.--their skills were all transferrable.

 

It's quite possible that what Tom thinks already exists--completely automated fast food--is just around the corner. But I can't imagine that smiling clerk at the register or the guy at the grill being unable to find other and probably better work.
