Elections have consequences - Part 362 - Trump voters lose their federal money.

Trump vetoes bipartisan bill to fund clean water pipeline in southeastern Colorado - The Colorado Sun

Dec. 31, 2025

Southeastern Colorado is solidly Trump country and voted Boebert back into Congress when she fled the Western Slope of Colorado, where she was forced to run on her accomplishments. Staring down a likely defeat, she went to the most conservative part of Colorado to keep feeding at the government trough.

"President Donald Trump on Monday vetoed the “Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act” despite its sponsorship by fellow Republicans and the significant benefits it would provide to southeastern Colorado, where his support runs deep. "

"“Enough is enough,” Trump said in a veto message to Congress. “My administration is committed to preventing American taxpayers from funding expensive and unreliable policies."

"..... the bill would cost the federal government less than a half million dollars. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation calls the conduit a “major infrastructure project that, upon completion, will provide reliable municipal and industrial water to 39 communities in southeast Colorado.”"

Boebert is wondering if she made Trump mad at her, and he's getting payback. A President wouldn't be so petty, would they? Would they?

"“President Trump decided to veto a completely non-controversial, bipartisan bill that passed both the House and Senate unanimously,” Boebert said in prepared statement."

"“I sincerely hope this veto has nothing to do with political retaliation for calling out corruption and demanding accountability,” Boebert said. “Americans deserve leadership that puts people over politics.”"

Aahh MAGA.

Most Colorado residents know that the Front Range and eastern Colorado are only habitable because of immense federally funded projects that bring water from the high country/Western Slope; those projects date back 100 years. Thus, it shouldn't be a partisan issue.

(The Michener novel "Centennial" has a chapter pretty much dedicated to this topic. Still a great read.)

Trump is a petty and vindictive piece of shit. He saw Bimbert's defection and spent his valuable time thrashing about to find some way to wreak "retribution" on her. Then he said, "Aha! I'll deprive the people who voted for her of water!!" He didn't stop to think that he would also be depriving the people who voted for HIM.

So much losing!

(I actually approve of Bimbert's feeding at the government trough because as she got fired from the only real job she ever held--McDonald's--she would otherwise be on the welfare rolls.)

You left out the "reason" - which came from the White House -- In its own statement on the matter, the White House said it had vetoed the bill because it would force the federal government to pick up more of the bill for a state and local project authorized by previous administrations. According to the White House, the water project was originally made possible by the Omnibus Public Land Management Act passed by President Barack Obama in 2009. "More than $249 million has already been spent on the [pipeline] and total costs are estimated to be $1.3 billion," the White House wrote."H.R. 131 would continue the failed policies of the past by forcing Federal taxpayers to bear even more of the massive costs of a local water project — a local water project that, as initially conceived, was supposed to be paid for by the localities using it." --

Dumb pedo-loving Davey Dog doesn't realize that hilariously, he was inadvertently accurate when he put "reason" in quotation marks. Trump never has a reason for anything he does. He often has a "reason," though.

This is nothing but another moronic Trump "cancel whatever Obama did" move, coupled with the aforementioned Bimbert retribution. So for the Turd, it's a genius move.

It is once again apparent that you missed the point that the veto is justified because of  the "reason" stated.

I praised you for being accurate when you said it was for a "reason" rather than an actual reason. Gee, whaddya want??
