The Electoral College: America's dumbest invention

Harris is leading by about 5% nationally. That translates into about a dead heat in the Electoral College.

We've had the loser of the election proclaimed the winner twice in this century.

The slave states insisted on getting disproportionate representation. So in order to make the United States as large as possible, they allowed the Electoral College as well as overrepresentation in the Senate, with the result that Wyoming has the same representation as California, even though the latter has eighty times the population of the former.

The only way to eliminate the Electoral College is via a Constitutional amendment, which, of course, the slave, er, Republican states won't ratify. So if the loser of the election gets the White House yet again, how do you think the public will react? Will there be some kind of popular movement, and how effective could it be?

I see yet another "win" by the loser of the election to be a precursor to a breakup of the US, and maybe even a civil war. I for one don't want to live in the same country as the slave states (Trump slaves). How about you? How would you feel about a breakup?

And I thought that you said that polls showing that Trump is losing don't matter???

I knew you did not have a "link" - all you have is another lie that you can not back up.

You were a little off with your 5 points.  In the Morning Consult poll taken September 13-15, she is ahead by a record high 6 points among likely voters.  https://pro.morningconsult.com/trackers/2024-presidential-election-polling

Never look at just one poll folks.
